OHSU Acc Bacc/Acc Bacc to DNP 2020 Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone. I'm creating this topic for those who have already or are finishing up their NursingCAS applications for the 2020 Cohort for either of the following programs at Oregon Health and Science University: Accelerated Bachelors, 3-year (traditional) Bachelors, or the Acc Bachelors to DNP/PhD. Hope everyone is doing well! Deadline is January 6, 2020 for some of these programs.

I called OHSU today and they confirmed that transcripts have until 2 weeks after the deadline to arrive and just have to be en route by the application deadline.

@futurenurseis yay! Thank you for the info!

so what’s everyone applying to? I’d love to get to know everyone in the meantime.

if y’all live in the Portland area we should meet for coffee!

@Samley I would love to meet for coffee sometimes. I have free time on Wednesdays if that ever works for you.

I am applying to the ABSN program. How about you all?

I did receive an email saying that OHSU received my application. Hopefully everyone else did too. If not, I hear its a good idea to check spam too as I've read of folks missing correspondence due to their interview invites going into he spam folder. I want to make sure I don't miss a thing! Good luck to you all. Its going to be a long month and a half waiting to hear back.

@GratefulKiki i applied to ABSN to DNP ? I just checked my application status and it is finally marked as completed (all of my transcripts were accepted). I'm in California otherwise I'd also be happy to meet you all!

Good luck everyone!

Omg, when did you get that email?!

Hi everyone-just found this thread! I’m applying for the ABSN program as well. OHSU is my top choice, but I’ve been accepted to two other programs. Fingers crossed for everyone!

I will also be interviewing for the BSN to Midwifery Program on 1/24!

Hi everyone! I applied to the ABSN-DNP PMHNP track at the Portland campus. Im an OR resident. My application and transcripts were verified back in late November.

I have not heard anything yet but I am really hopeful. I have quite a bit of years of employment experience in direct patient care. The majority of my work has been with the severe and persistenty mentally ill population, both in an inpatient medical unit and outpatient care setting.

So a question I have is what interview do the ABSN-DNP applicants attend? The ABSN interview dates (Feb 24ish) or the specific graduate program dates listed on OHSU site? I ask this because technically the ABSN portion of the ABSN-DNP track is undergrad/postbacc.

I'm assuming that the ABSN-PMHNP applicants interview on Feb 4, 5, 12. So I would expect to hear somewhat soon? Especially given the fact that midwifery applicants were notified on 1/9 of interviews on 1/24 (2 weeks).

Does anyone know specifically when the compliance documents and materials are required to be submitted (if granted admission)? All I can find is "by the 1st week of the term". If notifications of admission go out in March, and summer matriculation occurs in late June, I'm assuming you have between March and June to submit the compliance documents and medical records. But if anyone knows more specifically I would appreciate it.

Good luck everyone! If anyone can shed any light on my questions I would be very grateful!

I should add that I too recieved a confirmation email from OHSU that my application had arrived and was being sent to the review committee. This email arrived on 12/27/19.

And in my last post I meant to say my app was submitted mid December, verified by NCAS literally 2 hours later.

If anyone can shed any light on my 2 questions posted in my previous post I would be super grateful!!
