OHSU ABSN 2021

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone else is applying for the ABSN at OHSU for 2021? I just submit my application for the Ashland campus and would love to connect with other people who are applying! I'm feeling pretty nervous about how competitive the program is ?

Traditionally, OHSU has sent out formal notices to applicants who were not selected for interview. Most universities extend a "first round" of interview invites, followed by a second round, if any applicants in the first round declined their interview spot. I do not know the timeline on when "rejection" emails are issued, but I imagine they're sent after all interview spots have been filled. OHSU is pretty vague about that process, so it's hard to know when that is.

 

For those curious about the Ashland ABSN admission process:

Last year, I interviewed for the Ashland ABSN and received a waitlist notice two weeks later with a vague ranking as to my likelihood of being offered admission. I received my interview invite on 2/20/2020 (it was a Thursday). I have not yet received an invitation to interview for 2021, though this could mean nothing. OHSU stresses that they do not credit applicants based on their performance during previous application cycles.

When people are talking about interview rejections/invitations, are they speaking out Ashland or Portland? It would be helpful if people said OHSU ASHLAND and OHSU PORTLAND to help with confusion.

Has anyone who submitted their interview questions for the Portland campus gotten a confirmation email that it was received? I got an automated “we’re busy hang tight” email but with the deadline coming up and me being in a weird time zone I want to make sure it got in. If no one else got a confirmation that’ll make me feel much better haha.

I received confirmation roughly 24-26 hours after submitting them!

I sent them in yesterday; still no confirmation other than the "hang tight" email. I'm also toying with the idea of sending a followup if I don't hear back by ~ 1hr before the deadline.

2-3 weeks, I believe.

It took me so many days to write those essays. I think I wrote and then re-wrote each one at least three times each. I wonder how many people actually got help from others. It is not like there is anything really stopping them. That is kind of why I liked the interviews better. With the interviews, you know that everyone is genuinely answering the questions. Oh well.
