Ohio License by Endorsement

I'm endorsing from MA to an OH RN license. Does anyone have any experience with the Ohio Board of Nursing/any idea how long this process usually takes? I was offered a job but can't start until my OH license processes. Any ideas on timeline would be appreciated!

No none. I thought the same thing! I keep sending emails asking if they received everything and not a word back. I sent in everything on 6/2/14 This is ridiculous

This is crazy! You'd think they would happy to have educated people coming to their state. Ugh. Keep me posted.

Just today some of the boxes got filled in, but under Education Verification it says incomplete. I emailed again asking what they need and have been trying to call. under the application checklist is doesn't mention Education Verification and on the application it is only for foreign educated nurses and LPN IV therapy. Quite frustrated now. I submitted an application for exam back in february but ended up going to Michigan cuz of a boy (big mistake) they voided that application for me when I submitted this new endorsement application but under that they have Education Verification: received. They can't look at my file or whatever they have there and see that? Ugh just really fed up with the OBN right now.

Did you send the form to the state of Michigan for them to fill out and send to Ohio?

Never mind. That would be license verification. Now I'm nervous. I don't remember doing anything for education verification?

No, But I went to school here in Ohio. I did verify my license from MI by the nursys. I thought you had to send something only if you couldn't use the nursys? I am contacting My nursing school to see if they can send something. I know that when you graduate they automatically send something to the OBN and you have to ask them to send it any where else, like I had to do to get my license in MI. So the OBN has one, just they may have voided it out with my exam application

Right. Because it didn't ask for anything. If they would ever pick up the phone or return emails that would be awesome.

The board is overloaded with new applications from all of the recent school graduations, so they are probably behind in processing your application. As of last week, they were processing the certifications received on May 19th!

Also, they haven't been updating the verification page to show what they have received or what they still need until they get to your application. We were told that it will all be updated at once when they processed the completion paperwork. For example when I look at my verification screen, it says they still need my background check and to pay pearsonvue, both of which were done in early May.

Im currently a nurse in Canada and Im moving to Ohio soon. I was wondering whether I have to do the examination application or the endorsement application on the Ohio BON website? I have emailed/left them a message to clarify but no reply for a week. Would anyone be able to help me

If you do not have a US nursing license you need to apply for a nursing license by examination as an internationally educated nurse. Then meet the requirements and pass the NCLEX.
