Ohio License by Endorsement

I'm endorsing from MA to an OH RN license. Does anyone have any experience with the Ohio Board of Nursing/any idea how long this process usually takes? I was offered a job but can't start until my OH license processes. Any ideas on timeline would be appreciated!

Hello! I am trying to get an Ohio license and I am getting confused with all the steps I have to take. There is one part of the application that needs to be filled out by your board of nursing and sent directly to the Ohio board of nursing, correct? So did you just mail it to your board of nursing or did you contact them via mail or phone to see what you have to do to get that part filled out and sent to Ohio. Also, I tried emailing about the fingerprint cards and have not received any response about getting them. Did that take awhile to be sent to you?

Regardless of what you're asking about, the BON rarely ever responds to emails and voicemails if the answer to your question can be found on the website. Search the website thoroughly and you'll likely find your answer. I had to dig through that mess and finally found what I was looking for in a very small print in a weird spot. Good luck!

I sent my paperwork in with fingeprints and background check done two days earlier over 3 weeks ago. I am unable to get ahold of anyone at the BON. Any ideas desperately need to work but have to have license first. It says pending and has for over 2 1/2 weeks

I'm in the same boat. Sent my complete application including background check, money, all of it over a month ago now and mine still says pending as well. I've called everyday and never got an answer, left a message and no returned call, emailed and no response. I have a job waiting for me so I'm so frustrated! I just got my WV license and it took 5 days from the day I mailed it! I don't understand why Ohio is always so behind or why no one ever answers the phone. :( If anyone has any advise, I'm sure we would all love to hear it!

I'm having the same problem. I've called multiple times but it just keeps telling me to leave a message due to high call volumes. I've left one voicemail and emailed the board but haven't heard anything from them. I have a job in Ohio that I'm waiting to start as well whenever I get my license or even the temporary permit. The hospital also emailed the board for me and hasn't heard anything either. So frustrating! For anyone that has already gotten your license did you get the permit first? And if so how did you find out you had the permit? By the verification page or did they mail it to you?

The temporary permit will show up on the online verification page. Mine just showed up today! Keep calling, leaving voicemails, and emailing everyday! I started doing it a week and a half ago and I don't know if that's what got them to speed it up or not but it couldn't hurt. I still never talked to anyone but it just showed up on the verification page. Good luck!

I realize this is a bit old, but I'm so confused about the finger printing stuff. I'm out of state and I'm wondering if it would be easier for me to just go to Ohio to get the webcheck done. And that sheet that the BON from our state needs to fill out and send it to the OBON? Can anyone explain any of this better. Did anyone do the fingerprint cards?

I did the fingerprint cards. I went to my local precinct, paid a small fee, and they took my prints. Then I filled them out as per the instructions and mailed them in. If you are already in Ohio for something it probably would be easier to go to webcheck and get them done, but I didnt think the fingerprint cards were too hard to do.

As far as the license verification, did you check to see if you are in a Nursys state? If so, you can just go to the website, once a gain pay the fee (haha), and they will send the verification directly to OHBON.

Hello. I know this thread is quite a bit old but hopefully someone will see this. I'm endorsing from Oklahoma. I've been pending for six weeks. I can't anyone to answer the phone or return messages. Does the board check the boxes on the site to show your application process or not? None of my boxes have even checked yet. I'm starting to kind of panic.

I'm in the same boat. I'm applying for endorsement in Ohio with a license in Michigan. I have been waiting over 6 weeks now and the site ever says is pending. I'm going nuts trying to call and email with no response. Did you have any luck yet?

Hi. No, no luck yet. I'm so frustrated. They won't answer or return any calls/emails. I'm starting to think I'm missing something. Have any of your boxes been checked?
