Ohio License by Endorsement
The board is overloaded with new applications from all of the recent school graduations, so they are probably behind in processing your application. As of last week, they were processing the certifications received on May 19th! Also, they haven't been updating the verification page to show what they have received or what they still need until they get to your application. We were told that it will all be updated at once when they processed the completion paperwork. For example when I look at my verification screen, it says they still need my background check and to pay pearsonvue, both of which were done in early May. Good luck, I hope they get to you soon!

What's your favorite nursing youtube channel/video?
I too love Nurse Nacole. Nurse Mendoza has an awesome ABG video on YouTube. I haven't seen any of his other videos though.

I just bought the supply bag today $99.95. I haven't opened it yet to see what it includes though. I got the Littman Classic II S.E. stethoscope, although you can find them much cheaper than what the bookstore offers them for. I am waiting to hear from a professor on her opinion on Nursing Central since the bookstore talked me out of buying it today. I'm thinking they were wrong from her initial response though. *sigh*

Great info Jenny! I can't decide if I want to get an iTouch or not. I know an iPhone or my Droid will use the same software, but like you said, I'm afraid an instructor won't allow me to use it (although, can't you text from an iTouch? what is really the difference?). I was thinking of an iPad for the ebooks, however I didn't think an iPad at the clinical site would be practical. I can't afford both.

Pre-Nursing school immunization catastrophe!
So glad that it all works out for you, and even better than expected! :) I got my shot records from my high school, but they really didn't help me. Apparently I had a MR shot instead of a MMR, so I ended up getting a MMR booster anyway. My Dr's office said that the titers where much more expensive than necessary and my insurance covers my vaxes, so they were the better route. I did my 2-step TB first, then went for my physical and 1st round of vaxes. I did have a mild case of chicken pox as a child, but wasn't sure of immunity so my Dr wanted to give me shots as a booster so I went ahead with that one as well. I also needed a tetorifice (I know my last one was much longer than 10 years prior) and I started the Hep B series. I have enough time to get the 2nd chicken pox and 2nd Hep B shot before school starts. I too had a minor freak out over the vaccinations, but it all worked out. What a pain this all was! :lol I don't think it is really as bad as I took it, I think school starting nerves are out in full force and I still have over a month before classes begin. lol!

Awesome, thanks wantccu! It is listed as EMH, and a few people had papers that said it was St. John's and they said to give those back that they were wrong. LOL! Later on another professor said that there was a St. John's option but it wasn't listed. Confusing no? I'm glad it is St. John's though, so I'm happy. :) I would have picked differently had I known we didn't have to drive out to the clinical location the night before like she orignially told us. Ah well!

Duh, I'm an idiot! Thanks! lol! This is the same schedule that I got the round about way, so I guess it is correct. The only issue is this schedule wasn't even on the list we were given. I had 20 in the lottery, so I don't think it was because none of my choices were available. I kind of hope it is correct though, because it says St. John Westshore which were weren't given as an option and it is closer to me. Other than the different hospital, the class times are my first choice. :)

Excellent thoughts wantccu! You are right, we CAN do this! Hmmm, my Student Center says not enrolled in classes, but I am charged for the classes. When I go into my shopping cart it says it is empty, but then shows that I am enrolled in some classes. So I'm not sure if I should count on that schedule or not. LOL! I'm trying to get my physical scheduled and I'm worried about the vaccinations because I do not have my shot record. If I could get the nurse to call me back about getting the orders for my titers to be drawn before my physical I'd feel better. I know I need the Tetorifice and I'm fairly certain I need the Hep B Series, so I want to get those going. I hope my Dr's office can do the two-step Mantoux test because the Health Department doesn't offer that. I may be in line for a hefty amount of shots!

Jwarnike I sent you a pm with those suggestions. wantccu, I too feel overwhelmed. If anything, they managed to scare the crap out of me. lol! I did fairly well in the lottery, so I am *really* hoping I get one of my top choices for clinicals. I have a NCLEX book that I've been reading, and I think I'm going to start going over a math for meds type of book. I also have the previous semesters Fundamental book (I have the 8th edition and we need the 9th of course!) that I'm going to start reading over the summer. I don't want to study, study, but I would like to at least look at some material before fall. I hope it works!

I took Stats online and got an A. I did work for it though. I had to take the mid-term and final on campus, but all other exams were online. PM me if you are interested in the professor I took. She gave small video lectures based on the powerpoints for each section which I think really helped me. I just took chemistry (not online though) and good luck with the book. I think it sucks, and some of the answers are wrong. :lol There were some online students who came into our lab and the instructor helped them with anything they needed which was nice. He also made extra time for review sessions that were on his days off, again PM me if you need his name. Good luck!

Useful Apps for Nursing
I can't find the free saunder app. I am a fan of micromedex too, I've had it installed for sometime just to look up my own meds and those for my family and friends.
