Hi All

Just wondering what an average salary for an OGP nurse in the states is please? Just trying to work out how much monthly incomings and outcomings would be,

Thanks in advance

cant find my contarct so i cant remember what the fee is on mine

actually i must go and have a look for that......

EDIT...... ive found it lol

my contract is $8000 post NCLEX but before departure to the usa,

after arrival it is $15000

pay back hours are 3120

i agree that their are alot of scare stories on here at the moment, what i have typed above is the facts of my contract.

But i knew about the fee when i signed, im going to the USA to work for OGP, to be truthful so far they have been very good at sorting out things for me as our immigration is slightly complicated, yes they do earn money from me, but hey im sure they are not a charity.

Think about the support you get in you daily lives in the UK from your hospital, personally as long as i turn up for work neat, tidy and on time, and do my job well they dont ask me if im ok, the CEO doesnt ring me on a regular basis to check that im happy, i wouldnt expect it to be any different in the USA to be honest, yes we will be in a different country, but so are many of the nurses in my hospital and they dont get treated any different to me.

Im not expecting great things from them when I land, Im lucky though, I have good support from a friend who lives in AZ, shes been great to me so far, and if I can return the favour to anyone else going through this unsettling time, please do let me know.

Well said ,if anyone has ever worked for an agency or worked with agency staff in the u.k then they would no not to expect much from agencies ogp are just a tool to get me to the usa

i have just read my contract and it is still $8000, i wish people would stop trying to scare people it seems everybody's circumstances are different some good some bad but the bad seems to be heard more than the good i have heard as much success stories with ogp as i have heard bad

My get out clause is $15000 and I have it on good authority that new contracts clearly state $25000 so it is only fair that new people who are going to sign up with them should know that. If yours is $8000 you must have signed up longer ago than me and I am here 9 months

For any new nurses signing with them, the buy-out is $25,000.

The old contracts were $8,000.

This is due to the number that are trying to get out of contracts.

I do not apologise if you re read your contract because that is always a good thing.

At least you are all informed and that is much better than other nurses who have never found this site and never will. Plus you all know where to come for a bit of help when you get here, and everybody needs help at some point.

Sorry it is$15000 but i knew that when i took on the contract i have worked with alot of agency workers and know that they can be good and bad things but at the end of the day i went in to this with my eyes wide open and i have never quit anything in my life so i don't expect to quit this,i did 12 hour night shift last night only trained nurse to 18 beds so nothing can be worse than this and if it is i am sure with the help of my family i will get through it

My God you shift sounds frightingly similar to the one im going into tonight, 18 beds me and a healthcare

hence the application for USA visa

mine says $8000 before Nclex, it is easy to make a mistake when reading these things

I am sure nothing here could be worse than being only nurse on with 18 pts. I wasnt unhappy in my old job so I miss it sometimes and probably dont have the same feelings of discontent but do you know something when I one day will go back and read my diary from cover to cover I may have hated the bloody place lol. Remember I am wearing rose coloured glasses.

I have never quit anything in my life hence why i am still here, but I wont kid you I often think of going to the airport lol. Our family is stronger than ever. I live in a faboulous place-no complaints. The weather v hot but air-con is my best friend.

Thanks for replies, like the sound of pay!!

Yeah I am often left with 14 patients on a late shift, talk about a struggle, and they are all so sick, half of them should be in HDU! Too much for me to handle!

Things going soooo slowly, I want to be in States all ready!! lol!
