Congratulations on passing to 2nd Semester. Chances are good that they'll loosen the reins just a bit... and ratchet the expectations up just a bit too. Look back on your study habits and see if there's anything you can do better or more efficiently. Enjoy the break and get ready for another roller coaster ride called 2nd Semester!
Hi DorkyPanda,
Congratulations on your acceptance!
I only had 1 class first semester, split into 2 eight week sessions. I took pharm and life span psych and had it substitute waived as my ADN program only offers 1 or 2 units. As I plan to get my Bsn, the college I'm going to requires a 3 unit class for Pharm and Lifespan.
My nursing kit included a stethoscope and was required the first day of lab.
First half of the semester was a bit rough. I missed a B by 10th of a point. The second half I made a solid B. I learned how to study for nursing, I used the Mary Hogan rationale books (The pre and post questions helped me a lot!) and I made sure to read the chapters before class, so all I had to do was highlight what the instructor lectured on and focused on that.
Good luck! You will soon be a student nurse and before you know it, an RN :)
Hi NS Bubbly26,
The weed out semester is every semester on my campus. It's frustrating but I'm rolling with it. I have an exam on 18 chapters and 10 meds the first week of class... I just received my mental health book today. A fun trick my campus likes to play is to wait until the day before class begins to send out the syllabus. This time I'm ready to rock and roll (literally) lol.

First semester is over. To say I am relieved is an understatement. 1 semester down 3 more to go. Cheers to those who made it through another semester. Happy Holidays and a great New Year to you all
