Nothing done yet - no physical, no uniforms, no CPR nothing!!! Anyone want to do CPR together if possible?? Also, who wants to help me get together ~$1500 in the next 6w so I can pay for classes, books and the first month of $600/mo daycare?? Ahhhhhh!!!
I guess I have to call and bug them on Monday. I received my Hep B series at my previous employer last dose was May 2003 (I remember because I was pregnant and had to ask my OB if it was ok). So I called HR today and they only keep those records on site for a year and then they go off site. Since I've been gone 4 1/2 yrs they state their policy is to not pull the records so I'm stuck with no proof of the vaccination.
Also I want to know if I can fax in the Orientation paper stating I am attending.
If your major has been changed in wise, you will receive your packet :) I promise! My major was changed over a week ago and I just received my packet today.
It rocks (the packet). PM me or just post if you have q's that have not been answered already (Sam is AWESOME and Yaz is, too! Kudos!) I ordered my background checks and have registered for BLS for Healthcare Providers.
Also, my pink shiny engraved-on-the-bell Littman came tonight (it was supposed to be here yesterday...I hate fedex...) and I LOVE IT. So much it deserves a name, like one of my children. So, if you can swing it, buy a good stethoscope! Also, I am taking suggestions on what to name my new baby. No, I am not joking.
I also bought 2 patches while at school for class (blush). Do we need the ones that are rimmed in black and say "Associate Degree Nursing" or the ones rimed in white that say "student"? The book store gal was super nice but had no clue. :)
Dorking. Out.
Thanks, hopefully my packet comes in the next few days, or I will call the school on Monday. I got my pink shiny engraved Littmann yesterday! My kids have been my little helpers when I want to test it out. As soon as I whip it out my 3 year old son comes right over and lifts his shirt up lol.
Still waiting on my stethoscope. However, I do have a question. I went to this link: SearchCriteria
to compare pass rates for all the Nursing Programs in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, and Hernando (FYI...PHCC is listed under Hernando) counties, and can not figure out what an "Approved" program constitutes compared to an "Accredited." I know there are two accrediting bodies and, according to this site, only UT, USF, HCC, and PHCC are accredited. All of the other schools in this area are only "Approved." What exactly does that mean? Also, check out the NCLEX pass rates compared to all the schools mentioned above. It says PHCC's PN program is "Approved" but the RN program is "Accredited." Interesting read to keep us busy until orientation.

Thanks Sam so much for all your info!!!
Yay for everyone getting their majors changed and packets in the mail! It's a good feeling when things start getting into place.
Well I found a way to find my old immunizations records. I called my old college from 2004 and they have them still. Don't know which ones but I think it will save me a few $$. Lady was extremely abrupt though, but hey it's NY and not nice FL lol. I have to fax them a release form that I allow them to send it to PHCC. I wish they would send it to me instead but whatever maybe admissions will give me a copy once they receive it. I'll figure it out. But it might be a good idea for some of you who haven't gotten all your vaccines yet and don't want to spend the extra money.
I'm still very stressed about what campus I am going to and many times stopped myself from calling the nursing dept to plead with them. I don't know what to do and I hate not knowing until August 3rd.

Try not to stress out too much. I am sure everything will work out!
Great news on your records (my arms are still sore from shots earlier this week. Ouch.)!
Thanks Jen. :) I'm trying to not stress but it's hard, it's kinda like waiting for that acceptance letter. I can't wait until orientation and then it will all feel like it's set in stone.
How cool about your pink engraved stethoscope coming in! I'm thinking maybe I'll get a purple one.
Question so I read it said if you had Polio shots as a child you can put childhood and they will take your word for it. Maybe I shouldn't bother with my immunizations records because they want proof of immunity of MMR and Varicella in the last 3 years. So I guess I'll just get the boosters. What do they mean by bloodwork, just for the titers?
