I don't have cable TV. I was called last night about this. I'm so glad it is on YouTube.
In case you don't have time for the entire video the part praising heroic nurses starts at 10:58.
He praises the Koch Brother's donations to the New York hospital where he was cared for at 8:39 and his surgeon at 10:34.

Nice he appreciates nurses, but I never heard so much self-absorbed blithering. Who listens to this guy? And why?

I listen to this guy. And he is a very respectable, intelligent news reporter. You obviously either don't care about the news or have no idea what great reporting is. He was being the farthest thing from self-absorbed in this segment. He was simply telling his story and giving all the credit to where it was due. The part of this presentation that speaks the loudest about who Lawrence O'Donnell is at heart was the praise that he offered to the Koch brothers. Traditionally, he is reporting the facts on the many terrible things that the Koch's are doing. To take this SELFLESS approach and share with people his story in this way says a ton about the type of man he is.

I prefer to see the glass half full, Tricia. It's fantastic that someone with a national television platform would take the time to praise the nursing profession, as well as John and Shannon in particular. I got a little "misty-eyed" at the end...
I like this opinion.
My reply was in response to Tricia's comment. Lol but thanks!

For crying out loud...he gave very sincere "kudos" to his nurses and nurses in general, yet you still had to pick apart what he said and how he said it? I don't know about anyone else, but I'll take appreciation for nursing any way I can get it.

Let me pick this apart for a minute.
One thing, the Koch brothers do not support Obamacare.
Its kind of hypocritical that he has access to such excellent healthcare, but wants to block other Americans who do not have $$ to spend on healthcare.
Yes,its great he thanked the Doctors and nurses.
What about the other staff members though, like the janitor,x ray tech, etc.

I found this from 2010, more than four years ago:

I believe he did mention other staff.
Some people are never satisfied.
