If one penny of tax dollars go for this-----

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but if she sends all 14 to public schools, tax money will inevitably go to this family. It's not the tax money that worries me. It's the notion that its ok... rich or poor to people the world with endless amounts of offspring. 2 are quite enough for any reasonable family.

Aren't 6 billion little miracles enough?

Enough with all the multiples already.

On the way home from work this morning I heard this on the radio:

All 8 of the embryos that were transferred took, and thus she had octuplets. She is single, lives with her parents in a 2 bedroom house/apartment. She also has 6 other kids, all under the age of 7 :uhoh21:

Not sure how much of any of this is true, as it doesn't sound like the mom or hospital are talking.

OMG.

If this is true, What is this woman thinking?

She is single, lives with her parents, already has six kids under age seven, had embryos impanted and now has octuplets???!!!

Shall we just drive her to the welfare office and just give her their entire budget?

We know that taxpayers are going to support all these children!

The g-ma gave an interview and she is married but the husband is back and forth from Iraq as a contractor. The house they live in is 1600 SQ FT... Every person needs 500 Sq FT to maintain sanity so yes cramped quarters. Of course Kaiser is not talking.. this was medical negligence. She was not a candidate for fertlity treatment at all.

It gets better. Last year the family filed for bankrupcy. :uhoh3:

This really blows me away! I know couples that scrimp and save for IVF and/or adoption. They get NOTHING from ANYONE to pay for it. How this came to fruition I'd love to know! :angryfire

The news said that each baby now has it's own hospital team with each member wearing ID hats indicating which baby they're in charge of. (total of 46 people). I wouldn't be surprised if Kaiser is eating the cost for all the publicity. Even foreign news crews are stationed outside the hospital. Many of the "beaming" doctors have already been interviewed on local TV shows with movie and book deals being discussed. Only in America.....

What?!?! UGH!!!!!! This makes me so angry:angryfire

If people want to be stupid, then by all means, go for it. But when you bring children into it ...... that really ticks me off. I want to throw tomatoes at this mother.

I heard that the state of CA paid for her IVF? Did they not even screen this mother to see if she was a good candidate? What is the screening criteria? It does not even seem ethical to transfer 8 embryos. She'll probably sue Kaiser for malpractice and live happily ever after.

You should question all that you hear. Medicaid does not cover IVF.. never ever in a million years. You're a nurse you should know this. Medicaid will barely cover that which people need!!!
