Occc fall 2010 hopefulls.....let the waiting begin!!!

Just wandering who is playing the waiting game for OCCC's fall 2010 traditional nursing program acceptance letters!!! these next 2ish months are going to drive me nuts!!!!!:uhoh3:

eab--what Micro class are you taking? Im taking the Mon/Tues/Thurs 10am class...just curious if we would be in the same class.

everyone--where are you getting your titers and blood work done? I'm trying to get as much taken care of this week before classes start next week as possible but Im lost about where to go!

I still have not received my acceptance letter yet! i know i got in because i have 17 points and 3.4 gpa so i hope the letter comes soon so i know what all i need to have done. does anyone know what the deadline is to turn in the acceptance letter to the school so they will hold your spot?

about MICRO i took that class last semester and you definately want *****. she is really good and breaking things down and making them easy to learn. i ended up making a B in the class. ( i would have made an A if i hadnt slacked off near the end) and in her class you also have a chance to win a micro book so you wouldnt have to buy one.

June 8th is the deadline to turn in your intent to attend!! July 23rd for everything else. You'll need 2 neg TB tests, Hep B (either a positive titer, a waiver, or the vaccines), Mumps, Rubeola, and Rubella (either positive titers or your MMR 1 & 2), Varicella (positive titer or vaccines #1 &2) I just went and did my first TB tests and had all my titers drawn at SW Med center for $156, go back next week for my 2nd TB test and all my results from my titers...CPR cert (I'm doing mine at OCCC this friday for $45 from 830-230)...and then a background check (which takes 2 seconds to complete online).

I would def be calling up there to find out what is going on with your letter!! Actually...I would be sitting in the health professions office like...NOW! LOL. Good luck, hope you find out soon!

i called up there and left a message with *********** or whatever but if he doesnt call me back by tomorrow im going to go up there cus i know i got in but i have no idea why my acceptance letter would be taking this long to get to me.

That is craziness! You have a higher gpa and the same pref points as me so no doubt you got in..but that would be awful to have not gotten anything official from them yet. I have left like 2 dozen messages for that guy during the course of this thing (through the application process and verification letters and acceptance letters) and he has NEVER returned my phone call so don't hold your breath and be prepared to have to go up there! LOL. And let us know what the deal is, Im curious! ha.

so i found my acceptance letter at my post office! somehow the notification saying they had been there was lost (i literally have the worst luck ever) but i finally have my letter!

thanks! im really excited to finally start nursing school! congrats to everyone who got in...and for those who didnt dont lose hope cus i didnt get in last semester, so just stick with it.

Mommaof3- I am enrolled in the Tues, Thurs, and Fri at 7am class. I was enrolled at Rose State because it was full at OCCC but was able to finally get a spot. This will be my first class at OCCC and I am kind of nervous. I have been at RSC for the past year. I will prob apply to both schools but have been told Rose's micro doesn't transfer to occc. Not sure if it's true but didn't want to take any chances.

Eab--I see. I don't wanna start the 7am stuff until I HAVE to lol. Im not exactly a morning person..unless I haven't gone to bed yet! JK, anyway, yeah I don't know about transferring certain credits, I've only ever gone to OCCC. I really enjoy it and I think its alot like Rose is from what I've heard. Which Professor are you taking it with? I have Hayes. I had her for nutrition and EEEEK, kinda scared but I have to get this knocked out this summer so I dont have to worry about any other classes after NS starts.

Eab--OMG I just looked up my prof on that website and now I'm really scared but I have to take the class this summer unless I want to try to take it during NS...bad idea I think. So I'm gonna put my big girl panties on and do the best I can. I checked to see if ***** has any openings and there are NONE! I'll keep checking this week though to try to save myself some stress! Did you get your book on amazon? I checked and the cheapest one I can find is over $100! Do I have to search differently for the "international" version?
