Just wandering who is playing the waiting game for OCCC's fall 2010 traditional nursing program acceptance letters!!! these next 2ish months are going to drive me nuts!!!!!:uhoh3:

Hopefully a monday lab and wed. clinical would be ideal. What were ur days?

All the labs were Monday I think the option was morning or afternoon, lol. I chose the afternoon lab and my first choice (I think) was Wednesday at Grace on the southside. I know that you get your choice based on which number you were in getting all your stuff turned in, so I'm hoping since people have until July 23rd they wait! HAHA.

Got in. Yea!!!

Yay!! Congrats Chad, see ya at orientation!!

Thanks, they had to scare me a bit more I guess.

Anyone know the book list for process I?

No, I dont have any info on the book requirements yet. Assuming we'll get that at orientation in August since it wasn't in the letter??? Has anyone ordered their uniforms/shoes or other supplies yet, and if so, what all have you gotten and did you get it locally or online?

Hi everyone, I will be starting the nursing program in the fall and was curious about the background check... I did it online but do they send the results to the office at the school or should I have received something? I'm trying to get all my paperwork gathered up... any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

They send it to the school. You can call ***** in the health professions office to verify that she got it.

Hello mommaof3, i am a student at OCCC working on my pre reqs to apply for the RN program at OCCC.. how was the program for you? are you done now? My main concern it TIME and clinicals and anything else associated with the RN program, i work full time and have to stay that way so how often are clinicals and do we know ahead of time when they are so we can schedule vacation time at work? Hello,

I know im not mommaof3 but I just started the nursing program this past spring. The program is extremely busy and rewarding, a number of student in my group work full time though. We had class tues & thurs, lab monday, clinical one day, and clinical prep the day before, but there is more outside of class things to do at almost all times. This will be my second semester and the clinicals are longer, we have the prep the same day as the clinicals on the pm schedule so i makes for a 11 hr clinical once a week, plus lab, plus class. You must be prepared for it to encroach upon your life, and be flexible with your time, its alot of work but well worth it

@rjsloan, thanks so much for all this info. I am excited to start, i am also very happy to hear that several students now work full time too, see quiting is not an option for me at all, so this has to work. So overall how would you rate the ast semester? are your grades good? do you know if people didnt make it? i get off work now by 330pm and i too plan on entering the evening program, can you tell me what labs are and about what time those are from ? and are clinicals on weekdays or weekends? do we know ahead of time what day our clinicals are to be bale to accomidate vacation days at work? You can email me at [email protected] if you wish as well.. Thanks any and all info from anyone taking the RN nursing prgram ot OCCC is greatly appreciated.:nurse:

Hi the semester is pretty busy , I do get good grades I had a high med B, some did not make it, it is what you make it and unlike anything else you have probably ever done. I dont know about getting off a 330 your work will have to be extremaly lenient...class was 530 to 730 pm lab was mondays either 830am-1pm or 1-5 and clinicals all depended they were wed thurs fri or sat (i had sat) but saturdays are not offered every semester from what I hear and are 630 to 330 i think thats what they were, with prep the day before ( this depends on your clinical instructor for times for prep), you will know ahead of time what day your clinicals are. there is also simulation, and other outside work to do so be prepared to work less or to be up non stop, and the evening schedule is mainly just for the class time and is only offered for the spring semester starting students
