WHERE do I buy a TEAS study guide?
i would check your colleges bookstore. i bought the mcgraw one on amazon and it had very little to do with the book my bookstore had. so i failed the first teas with the book from amazon but passed the second time with the book from my school. it is worth the extra money to spend on the right one :)

Is Being Fluent in English and Spanish a benefit?
@tokidokifantasy, see your post touched my heart, those are the stories i love to hear, yes i can imagine the feeling you felt personally being able to assist the patients, I think this is a relief for patients too huh? just knowing that the hospital cared to staff someone that spoke a different language:yeah:let me ask you this, is being multi lungual at the top of your resume? or just under special skills or traits?

how hard really is School and Work ?
WOW, All these responses have truly helped me out, Thank you Suern2b, you have opened my eyes to what the program is like and for this i thank you, i am extrememly happy to see posts where it has been done and can be done, thanks to, Turd Ferguson, elkpark,flmomof5 and scalico, i really apprecaite all of your responses, wow, i cant believe how blinded i was LOL, not that is is discouraging in any way at all, i am still anxious and excited to get this over with and start my dream job of helping people, however, let me ask this, are clinicals REALLY 2-3 days per week? about how many clinical hours are required per semester? I do have a total of 5 weeks of vacation a year so divided into individual days wont be a probelm, but if clinicals are 2 or 3 times a week each and every week that can be a problem

@ ckh23, Yes I have heard about those language lines but hopefully where ever i work, the hosptal can see how much easier it is to not have to use those language lines as often :) I am sooo anxious and excited to become an RN. @ badtx maru, thank you so much, I cant wait to see the look on patients face when they know that I am there to help them with out needing to wait on a translator :) I cant wait to finish school, i hope the next three years flllyyyy by :lol2:

how hard really is School and Work ?
@ suern2b, WOW, thanks so much !! this is very helpful, now i am REALLY scared not by the school load BUT by this what I am about to write, I have a well paying job now i make $23 an hour . SO 5 years ago my husband and I had our dream home built, and well if i quit that job to go through 2 years of the RN program we will lose our home. Due to such a high mortgage Is it worth losing our dream home to pursue my dream job, knowing that in nursing i will make about what i make now, the reason I want to become a Nurse is becuase i know that is my calling, i love to help people and I am a very caring person. OMG, now the hard decisions have to be made huh?:crying2::crying2:

@ MN Nurse, I dont have the option to work less unfortunately what jobs can i do at a hospital while in nursing school with out being certified in anything?

Is Being Fluent in English and Spanish a benefit?
thank you caliotter3, there is an exam i can take at my college to get certified in spanish it is verbal and written, i will go ahead and take this exam too, to be able to add this to my resume. i cannot wait to get in the hospital and be able to help the spanish speaking patients so they don't have to suffer while trying to express their feelings and symptoms to a translator, i know time is critical, and seconds, can mean life or death
