Published

Hey everyone! Im back for my second application into the ADN program at OCC ::sigh:: As I did in the thread I created last year, I am creating a new one for all those applying to the nursing progam for next fall. Lets keep in touch and keep one another updated. Good luck guys!!! :)

As we get closer and closer to knowing im starting to doubt myself..ahh this is stressful lol

Hey everybody! I was told by one of the general counselors that the letters for the Nursing program are being prepared to be sent out so we should get them in the earlier part of March. We shall see.....

Either way, good or bad, I just want them. My stress levels are through the roof, I feel like I'm suffering from a low grade depression born of fear of rejection...ugh. And I'm still deathly terrified they took the wrong Phys Ed grade (I had a 2 credit class back in 07 before I chose nursing) that I got a B in, and took a 1 credit last year for the pre-reqs that I got an A in) and screwed up my gpa even though I made my counselor even make a note of it and point it out. UGHHHHHH:crying2:

AHHHH waiting is killing me!!!!

IfYouSeekAmy- i'm sure you'll be fine, your gpa is awesome!

I myself am worried.....I have to get in I have to have to have to !! UGH.

heres to waiting..............

Well, everyone, March is finally here!

We can now say that we'll be receiving our notification letters this month! Yeah! I'm really, really excited--and nervous--as a lot of hard work is about to begin.

Also, has anyone heard whether or not there will be an accelerated program this year? I believe there will be, based on the number of sections of pharmacology being offered this summer. Eight were offered last summer; it appears that nine are being offered this time around. Could that mean they've re-allocated 60 spots for the accelerated program, giving 30 more people an opportunity to attend the program?

Whatever the case, good luck to all of us! It's countdown time! :)

Hello All,

I am new to the board and would like to say hello. I applied to the program and I too am waiting on "the letter". I applied with a 3.93 and I am deathly afraid that my gpa isnt "good enough". I cant even stand to wait any longer, my heart feels as though it is beating out of my chest :heartbeat every day I have to wait. Come on march 15 come on!!!!!

Hi jenny! Welcome to the group!

I feel the same as you. We should be relaxed and excited but I'm as on edge as ever!

Thank goodness for this community.

Thank you so much and I wish everyone a warm and big "GOOD LUCK" to everyone

Do we get the option to take pharmacology in the summer if we're doing the traditional program? If so, how do u guys feel about taking it online?

Im not really sure if there offering it but i do remember a guy in my class asking a counselor if there would be a summer class and the counselor said ya..so that might be the class they are offering..i personally would not take it online because i do much better with professors helping me

I dont want to bum anyone out but there is no fundamentals of nursing class being offered this summer, so that should be a good indicator that there is no accelerated class this year. Ive been hearing this all year in the program from some instructors because the DMC has not hired any of the last 90 nurses that they sponsored the last 2 years. I also heard one of you say that the nursing dept is ready to send out acceptance letters, if thats true it means they are not waiting for the DMC to sponsor anyone this year. last year they waited til the end of march to send out letters because they were waiting on DMC for make up their minds.

good luck to all of you future nursing students

Are the summer pharmacology classes at Southfield only for LPN students?
