Published

Well since it'll be a while before we are registered, I thought later this week I'd go up to Highland's bookstore and buy the required Pharm syllabus.

This might sound weird, but would anyone like to meet me up there? Friday, most likely.

You should call the bookstore first to find out if the syllabus is in stock because the shelf was empty last week when I was campus.

I just checked the bookstore online and you can only buy the calculations book. There are no options to buy the syllabus or the text. So I assume they have neither of those in stock yet.

Thanks guys.

I'm going to order the main books from half.com. The bookstore will bleed your pockets dry.

I wonder if the books are the same for each different section?

Most schools make the department decide upon one text for all sections. I dont see why OCC would be any different.

There is a pharmacology syllabus at the Southfield campus. Do u think we will use the same one although they are not available at HL?

P.s. I got my Nursing hoodie! Yay! Lmao

I called the department yesterday and yes, they won't register us until early April. She said to expect a packet with details about orientation, etc. before then. :-)

@Mocha - did you get it at the HL or Southfield campus....I want one too lol!

what gpa do you need for the LPN program?

I got my hoodie at the Southfield Campus. They have quite a few actually and there are hats. There are also some t-shirts but they don't say OCC on them.

Like the RN program, it varies each year. They take all who applied and rank them according to the gpa. They use 6 courses, so less prereqs than the RN program but the hard ones are still there (micro, and both anatomys).

I don't know how many people are accepted into LPN each year? That being said, I know the gpa was significantly lower than the one required for the RN program. It was around a 3.6 something.

LPN 2010 cutoff was 3.5xx

LPN 2011 cutoff was 3.6xx

And I believe is going up next year!

They accept around 30 people.

My class 2011, they accepted 32, however, we have about 28 left (waiting to count tomorrow).

My clinical was 16 in the first day but now down to 13!!

Even though Cutoff GPA is lower than RN but the content of courses are still 99% identical as first year RN program.
