The strangest name I heard a parent name a baby boy was "Lummie" that was about 10 years ago. I feel sorry for the boy, I bet the kids at school are having a field day with the rhyming.

I had an uncle named "Bernice" and once dated a guy named "Vivian Carroll ---" (I think his parents were Brits)
I have an uncle 'Bernice', but it is pronounced BUR-nis (not Ber-NEES). I grew up with it so I don't think it is odd. I do see how the spelling could give him trouble, though.

My mom, who is a NICU nurse told me about this one.....Shithead. Get your mind out of the gutter, that's pronounced Sha-theed. She actually had to talk the parents out of it, apparently it took a lot of explaining before they caught on. Then last week there was a little boy whose parents had the brilliant idea to name him Sincere Lee. To me Sincere seems like it'd be a girl, if one had to use it for a name, but no. And then this isn't a patient, but I went to school with a girl named Candida. Nothing like being named after a yeast.

I work as a pharmacy tech and we get some really strange names. One kid is named Vodka, and a set of twins named Jerome and Jerome. One pronounced as Jer-om and the other as Jeremy. We have to put 1 or 2 behind their names to keep their prescriptions straight.
