  1. Just finished my first semester! Tired but well worth it. Survival tips for managing a family and studying full time and working full time lie in a supportive spouse. I could not make it without him! I always try to spoil him rotten occasionally to show my gratitude.
  2. doing Patho now and I wish WISH I had spent the summer rereading my A&P books. But I will make it. Especially the cell! I spend half the time looking up terms that I knew in undergrad. But I suspect after this semester it will be less painful. 6th ed. APA text is a bit challenging as well, make sure to also get student text.
  3. Thank you for sharing your experience. It speaks to the sacrifices that are inherent in parenting. BTW I truly believe that 50 is the new 30! I am so happy that you have found a partner that will fully support your endeavors and that both your kids are in college! I don't think anything will be able to stop your progress now. Will you be able to transfer any of the credits that you completed? On a different note! LUV Star Trek. 'Curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want.' -Spock, Star Trek, "Errand Of Mercy" Another of my favorite quotes!
  4. Thank You Serenyd, I am toying with which option to pursue (full vs part-time) but will meet advisors in 1 week and see what they think. I am so excited! Also a bit nostalgic about watching movies in my spare time and seriously considering ending my netflix account. Will update you guys on how it goes.
  5. 1. Frontier 2. WHCNP 3. Ft 4. Part-time the first semester then Full after 5. And will do it with the grace of God, and support of family, husband, and 2 kids!
  6. Heavy decision. Follow a PMHNP for 1 week. Ask yourself honestly if this is what you want. If not compete with the geeky kids at PHARM school ( even though I am sure you will find quite a few in your NP program! ) and be nice when nurses call you looking for their meds in the future. LOL.
  7. You guys will be fine. And you can focus on starting in January. I truly believe that you will get something better. I remember when I was finished with all my prerequisites for nursing school I applied to my local community college, (High GPA, Previous BA degree, excellent recommendations) and got rejected. I was incredibly devastated. Even my director called to find out why I was not accepted. I had also applied to an accelerated BSN program but did not expect anything. In the end they gave me one of 30 spots and I was able to excel in that program and take a grad research course in my final semester that was AWESOME!!!! So one tragedy can really be a pathway toward a great blessing! Just keep saying your dream out loud to yourself.
  8. Hey B, I did a grad level stats course the last semester in my BSN program, so I dont have to do one at Frontier but that was 4 years ago. If I need any help I will be sure to contact you. Thanks for offering. Did you log in yet? I would like to know what time we have to be there on the 21st. StaRNew.
  9. Tell me about it! But it made the acceptance that much sweeter! not sure where we have to fly in, have to call to get my user name and password.
  10. Class 70 when will you flying in? exactly on the 21st or before?
  11. Guess what you guys...I am sorry to inform you...that I will see you at Frontier Bound in Sept CLASS 70!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They sent my emails to the wrong address by mistake! I forgive them! Thank the Lord! I was staring at my screen all day!
  12. I called cuz I need to sleep- worked last night and have to work tonight -and they said that they are doing it by program. But will know definitely by the end of the day.
  13. I am so sorry Axillan! At least it is just a delay and not a complete NO. I know how hard it is when we make plans for ourselves and they fall apart. But you can focus on having an additional few months off. And you never know what could happen before then.
  14. Thank You and I am so happy for you. My husband is also trying to convince me that it was not a group email. lol.
