And the alleged experts (scientists) say there is nothing to it. BULL DINKY!!!! I work ICU and can tell you first hand that people of all ages, shapes and sizes get looney tunes 3 days prior, the night of and 3 days after the full moon. WACKY!!! It always happens with the patients who brought one vein to the hospital with them and it took 3 of the best nurses with iv's to get a stinking 22 guage in him or her. They leap from the bed and out comes the iv. Or they have a Swan, TLC or aline in and jump out of bed and rip those out. Some don't even get out of bed to rip them out! These scientists need to come work in a teaching hospital in a summer resort area! Then they will know what a full moon and the double whamy of a full moon on a holiday weekend means.

Then again, there is always a full moon over where I work. Just can't see it behind that big dark cloud....

Ohhhhh... OB is hoppin here! Anywhere from 12-20 in labor at any given time since Friday night! Everyone is either crazy, snobbish, sick, or a whiner.

Today we discharged 19 vaginal deliveries from Friday. When I left, there were 12 in labor. I'm back tomorrow for day 3 of my 2 lovely c-sections who believe they are the only 2 women on this earth to have given birth in this tragic manner. :chuckle

Is anyone else for the aerial distribution of Depo?

Aerial spraying of Depo, and a valium/versed/ativan salt lick that all hospital visitors are required to lick furiosly prior to leaving the lobby area. My sister has been a pedi nurse for 20 plus years and she agrees with you. Birth control in the water supply and if you pass the test of being human enough to parent children you get the antidote!

Is this a holiday weekend "Down Under"??????

Mary, Once a psych nurse always a psych nurse!!!

Activity level here on the psych unit has been a little on the "HIGH" side. The weather has been great and it seems all the manics are prowling.

Shay, when I read this, I felt bad, but realized that I took that $12,000 a year pay cut to work clinic for a reason! I have off the entire weekend!

However, Heather, I feel your pain. I've had my share of post-partums who like to have their own pity party. Sometimes I don't know what's worse: freaky labor patients or even WORSE post-partums.
