Hello,
I have noticed there isn't a thread for those applying for NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2014. Let's share feedback, advice, stats, etc... I went to an open house today at NYU. They really do stress that since there is no interview, the personal statement is our chance to prove ourselves. They also said they get about 1,000 applicants and a Fall entrance class usually have about 150 students in it.
What part of the application process are you in?
How is the personal statement going?
How many pre-reqs do you have left?
Yeah, I actually have three people who wrote my recommendations for Columbia and Binghamton (the other place I applied), so I just called the one who I know is the fastest at getting them out and asked her to submit it. She basically just has to put in NYU's name and mail it in. I know she has written lots of recs so she sort of has her own template, but it's on letterhead.
Also, I asked admissions if they had any stats on how many people find jobs after graduation, and they said that 80% of grads have jobs within a few months of graduating, if you're interested! I think that sounds pretty good, price still scares me though!
Hi everyone! I am also applying to NYU and am so nervous because the priority deadline is approaching! Does anyone know if we are at a disadvantage if we don't get our transcripts to the office by then? I have a feeling that my transcript requests won't process for another few weeks. I'm sure it will before the final deadline but probably not before the priority deadline.

I'm pretty sure they give you a grace period! I wouldn't worry about your application materials (ex: transcripts, letters of rec, exam scores) not arriving by the application deadline.
Hey all! I submitted my application online just a few days ago and am anxiously waiting now! I know I made it in time for the priority registration, but when do we usually hear back? My application is a little non-traditional- I spent some time in the Navy and don't have any volunteer or work experience in the medical field. Also, I see a lot of you posting about resumes. Where did it allow us to attach these in the common app?
Depending on where you live, I'd encourage you to check out the C.A.R.E program at Mount Sinai. Basically, you volunteer in the Emergency Department at Mount Sinai and assist unaccompanied patients in a variety of different ways. It isn't shadowing but you end up seeing a lot. Its great because you can work pretty much any time between 9am-12:30am Monday-Sunday and shifts vary from 2-7 hours long. Could be a great opportunity to get some hospital experience given your schedule. I know you wrote this post a long time ago but thought I'd respond just in case you're still looking for hospital opportunities.

It was on the second bachelors form you downloaded (right after you insert your personal statement, there was a place to put your resume) You should try calling them and having that sent in, since the priority deadline isn't even until next week!
