Also, I had a chance to speak to someone in the program a few months ago. They have absolutely nothing but good things to say about it. All of the professors are either nurses or doctors. If you are concerned about commuting, most people car pool. Overall the curriculum is very doable as long as you manage your time well.

I think the interview went well. I was so nervous though, but overall have no regrets. I really like the program setting, my interviewer said they really make an effort to get to know everyone in the program since it's small. This is my top choice to I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully we will all be classmates in the fall!

@petunia03 Congrats on the acceptance! I also interviewed at the end of March and now checking the mail every hour. Do you mind sharing your stats? Also.. silly question.. but does the acceptance come in a big or small envelope? Thanks!

NYU Fall 2014 ABSN
I havent applied yet. I am still waiting for my LORs. From what I heard at the open house LORs are not required but suggested. In other words they wont hurt you. I plan on sending in my applications before the new year. They probably wont review until they receive everything. They also said that just because we apply for the priority deadline doesnt mean that we will hear back first, or that we will be given priority over other applicants. All it means is that they will read our applications first. What other schools are you applying to? Do you have any more pre reqs to take?

NYU Fall 2014 ABSN
Hello, I have noticed there isn't a thread for those applying for NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2014. Let's share feedback, advice, stats, etc... I went to an open house today at NYU. They really do stress that since there is no interview, the personal statement is our chance to prove ourselves. They also said they get about 1,000 applicants and a Fall entrance class usually have about 150 students in it. What part of the application process are you in? How is the personal statement going? How many pre-reqs do you have left?

Newbie seeking advice about pre- req grades and classes
Hi everyone! I am new to the forum and hoping some of you out there can give me some advice. I am taking my pre-reqs now (in a CUNY) while working towards my BA in Psych. If all goes well with my schedule I will be done with my degree in December 2013. I am planning to stay a semester to finish my pre- reqs. I do have to mention that I was on a completely different career path before, but certain events drew me into nursing. (so my transcript has a lot of classes that are not applicable to nursing whats so ever ) So far I am looking into NYU, SUNY Downstate, Wagner, Pace and Stonybrook. (Accelerated programs) I do not want to go out of the city. I outlined the remaining classes I have to take for each program. Right now I have a 3.3 overall GPA. In my previous CUNY school I took Bio1 and got a C. I later on took Bio2 and got a D. (Later on I found out that my Bio1 transferred over as Bio2 and I didn't have to take it...the D does not average into my GPA... which I'm happy about but I am upset that nobody shared this information with me earlier) The pre- reqs I have so far: Intro to Psych: B Sats: B- AP1: B- ...and I withdrew from Chem a few semesters ago because I was scared to fail. I would just like to ask how all of this is looking. Does it look really bad that I got a C in Bio even though its not a pre-req (its just a pre req for AP) Does is also look bad that I withdrew from Chem? Realistically I do not know if I will be able to get all A's in my future science pre-reqs. I am not strong in science. I really likes AP1 because it was about the body. Even though I'm not a stong science student I really love patient care and medicine. I currently work for a Urologist (almost 2 years) and love getting any sort of patient interaction. What are your suggestions? Should I do anything to put myself over the top since my grades aren't the strongest? Thanks in advance!
