NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2020

Published

Hi guys! Thought I'd make a forum for NYU's ABSN Program for fall 2020.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexis Paige. Currently in California. I received my BA in psych from a private university with a GPA below 3.0. Took pre-reqs in multiple community college while working. Ended up with the same GPA as undergrad ?

Here's my stats:

Anatomy: C (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Physio: A-

Microbio: C+ (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Chem for health sciences: C+

Nutrition: A

Stats: C

Lifespan dev: B

Volunteer experience at Stanford University. Do you think I have chance with NYU? I feel like my only hope in getting in are the letter of recs + personal essay.

Feel free to comment whatever is on your mind. What are your stats? Where are you from and what other schools will you be applying at? Help a sistah out!

Congratulations!! That is great news for us that have yet to hear ! ?

The breakdown of cost is listed on NYU college of nursing website. No one will tell you 100% if it's beneficial or not, most of the nurses I know say it doesn't matter what school you go to, on the other hand a lot of people say it's very easy to find a job placement after graduating from NYU due to the high volume of hospitals they work with. If you believe in yourself I think you can do just fine by going to another school with lower cost.

Thank you very much for your reply. I got accepted to both NYU and Pace University. NYU's tuition is almost over $100k, while, Pace is around $60k. Financially, Pace sounds like a better option to me. I am just worried if I will be able to secure a job as a nurse right after passing NCLEX. My future goal is to become a NP, so I do not want to overload myself with too much student loans either.

congratulations! did the appearance of your portal change? also, which school are you leaning more towards?

I really hope this program doesn’t end up being online. All of the colleges in California are doing online instruction in the fall.

anyone got accepted yet with a GPA below 3.0?

I emailed them a few days ago and they said ....

"Admission decisions are currently being sent out on a weekly basis via email. Everyone will have received a decision by the latest June 15th."

That makes sense. Decisions came out on May 1st and also will most likely come out tm. That means those who got accepted have another two weeks to choose their seat. And then on the 29th again those another have another two weeks which would land on June 12. So I’m thinking lower the GPA the later U find out.
