NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2020

Published

Hi guys! Thought I'd make a forum for NYU's ABSN Program for fall 2020.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexis Paige. Currently in California. I received my BA in psych from a private university with a GPA below 3.0. Took pre-reqs in multiple community college while working. Ended up with the same GPA as undergrad ?

Here's my stats:

Anatomy: C (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Physio: A-

Microbio: C+ (planning to retake in spring 2020)

Chem for health sciences: C+

Nutrition: A

Stats: C

Lifespan dev: B

Volunteer experience at Stanford University. Do you think I have chance with NYU? I feel like my only hope in getting in are the letter of recs + personal essay.

Feel free to comment whatever is on your mind. What are your stats? Where are you from and what other schools will you be applying at? Help a sistah out!

Hopefully there'll be some more acceptances tomorrow!

Nothing yet:( But my GPA is only 3.3 so I feel like if I get in then I'll be one of the last people accepted. They accept the strongest candidates first as far as I know. My friend with a relatively low GPA applied in December last year and got his acceptance end of May.

40+ !! Does anyone have a definite number on how many they accept per semester ? I might reapply for Spring 2021. CONGRATS to those who got accepted and good luck to everyone else!!

What was your friend’s GPA, out of curiosity? Because 3.3 is a good GPA to have. I feel like your chances are still pretty high.

his was 3.2 but I'm afraid it's more competitive this year. Hopefully I'm wrong. I already got rejected from Stony Brooke and Downstate.

yea I agree. 3.3 is a good GPA. mine is borderline 2.7 so I’ll be lucky if they decide to accept me. I thought GPA doesn't really matter that’s why I applied

I think the science GPA matters more than the undergrad GPA. I wouldn’t get down about it. A plethora of people have been accepted with different profiles.

Does anyone know what the scholarship packages are like? I forgot to submit the CSS profile so I won't be getting any. Wanted to know what I would be missing out on and if that should be a factor for me to wait and apply again next cycle.

I had an undergraduate GPA of 3.14 and I got accepted a few weeks ago so definitely don’t feel discouraged. And I believe they have fairly large cohorts

when was the deadline for the CSS profile? I just completed my application. Does it make a difference ?

the deadline was April 1st, if you submit it after that you wouldn't be eligible for institutional aid but you can apply for the other scholarships once you start the program

it doesn’t affect your chance of getting accepted. that’s just how they determine financial package
