Nyu Accelerated BSN spring 2014

Published

Hello everyone! I made this thread in order to find everyone is also also planning on applying NYU accelerated nursing program. The application for the spring opens on October 1st and I am so excited! :)

They definitely have your application fee check. How long ago (how many weeks ago) did you send your application fee check? It took me about 3-31/2 weeks to process it from the day I sent it to the office

I do know they got it since it has check mark on Albert... I ve sent it more than month ago. Do you guys know if NYU contacts you if they are missing smth? Like in some schools they sent you email if they need extra docs... I m worried & have no idea how to tell, since on Albert it seems complete & check mark by all 3 sections (transcr, tests, fee)

I would just call in and ask them to check for your documents just to be sure!

I'm sure they will let you know whether or not it is processed. It is confirmed that they have it. I think that it's taking the office a while because this is the time when they have numerous applicants (since it's almost the final deadline for the ABSN, they have the standard BSN program applicants to get through, and also getting phone calls). But since you said that it's been over a month that the check was sent (received but not processed), then I would call. Especially since the final deadline is coming up.

I sent money order not check, it says it received so it all that matters... I think they will let us know if they need anything else..

Can anyone tell me if this is what shows up under the application status?

I have grey checkmarks under Final HS Transcript, College Transcript, and Standardized Test Scores. I never sent any high school transcript or any standardized test scores because they are not needed? but there are still check marks next to them.

It says the same for me too

Hey,

Mine shows the same. I contacted them a few weeks ago to clarify my uncertainties. Nothing to be worried about.

I just got back from a weekend in New York and had a chance to go by the surrounding area of NYU, and sad to say, was extremely disappointing. There were no tours scheduled the weekend that I could get off school and work, and at the visitors center they just handed us a map. They couldn't give us the time of day. I was able to sign in as visitor (you can't get in any building without a school ID swipe) and was able to go to the nursing office. It was weird, just like an administration office above a McDonalds and she didn't really help me with the questions that I had. I saw a few students walking around in NYU nursing scrubs and was SO tempted to just randomly ask them questions haha, but I couldn't do it. I absolutely loved the city and the surrounding NYU area, but the school itself was the complete opposite of what I was expecting. It wasn't comforting, or helpful, or informative.

Just wanted to let ya'll know my experience this weekend!

It is actually a good thing that they have a good security/ id card swipe, sorry to hear you left disappointed, but I'm sure you would change your mind when you got involved in the circle and commute itself. NY and NYU also is a set machine, maybe sometimes not welcoming, but people eventually fall in love with it...

It is very unfortunate that you did not have a pleasant visit. Maybe the timing might be a reason why your visit wasn't eventful? For instance, the tours may be scheduled only on weekdays? As for the staff member, she was probably busy because this is the time when there are numerous applications and reviews that has to be done since it is fall? As for the campus setting, people have different opinions. Some may love the campus and some may not. I'm sure that if you give it time, you will adapt to it and love NYU (somewhat what realdream said). But yeah, I'm very sorry that your experience this weekend was not what you expect it to be. Try not to give up on it and possibly comeback during non-peak weekdays where staff members are not very busy and guided tours may be scheduled.

Thanks guys! I'm sure there are a number of reasons why it didn't go the way I planned, which is totally understandable. The visit didn't kill my dreams too badly haha, just kidding. Not that the security to get into the buildings is a bad thing, that's how it is at my school, but it would have been nice to see the inside and scope out some of the classroom buildings. And I would love to go back again, but I'm from Florida and that trip was hard enough to swing together, I doubt I could pull it off a second time, unless of course it was for orientation or something :p

Hi Everyone - I am currently admitted into ABSN program finishing prerequs at NYU this semester and will be starting the 15-month ABSN portion in the Spring. I don't know exactly when but the Nursing school is actually moving to a brand new state of the art building with the school of Dentistry in the east 30s (Kips Bay). I am excited about the new, consolidated environment but sad to be leaving downtown and Washington Square. I think it is as early as this Spring but probably more like the Fall.

Best of luck to everyone!
