  1. I have no nursing experience BUT I have an EMT license (but haven't used it because I couldn't find a job with my schedule since I was a full time student) and I also volunteered in the Emergency Room shadowing/assisting the Doctors/PA's/Nurses at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center for about 1 1/2 years on top of what else is on my resume. Honestly, my best advice is keep doing what you're doing, build your resume, have good letter of recommendations, have a good personal statement, and DO GOOD on your pre-requisites
  2. For anybody who knows this, when is the deadline for the 2014-2015 financial aid? I'm sure that we have to apply again since the first time we applied for financial aid is for the 2013-2014 year
  3. Nice to meet you Kelsey! My name is eric. So yeah, all that's left for me to do is the "CITI" training (halfway through) and the immunization. Just curious, is the financial aide viewable? I didn't see anything for mine. Other than that, I can't wait. Gonna be an interesting experience because I'm from Chino Hills, CA! Last time I was in Lincoln was back in November when I flew in for my interview. One thing I'm not looking forward to is the move from CA to NE because I'm driving my car! Do you know anybody else in our class and how many of us are there in the Lincoln division?
  4. I received my acceptance last month to UNMC Accelerated BSN Program (Lincoln) for the 2014-2015 school year. I figured this is a good way to get in touch/communicate with other students that got accepted to the program (Omaha, Lincoln, or Scottsbluff). Is there anyone else that got accepted or know anything that needs to be done besides all of the paper work and compliances?
  5. Yeah. I checked the NYU Albert email and saw nothing so then I checked my personal email and there it was, titled "Your NYU Admissions Decision". Opened it, and got the denial email...
  6. Got denied 5:54am pacific time...
  7. I'm constantly checking my email every 15 mins or so! I'm pretty sure a lot of people are doing the same thing! Lol
  8. You are not the only one. This is my first time applying to NYU as well. Just like everyone else, we are constantly checking our email. Just want the weight to be lifted off my shoulders and get in so I can help support my parents for putting me and 4 of my brothers all through college. Kind of wish there was an interview so we can justify certain things that has occurred since we cannot fit our life story in the personal statement. Seriously, I wish the best of luck to you and everyone. We all have those moments and difficult times. All we can do now is just hope for the best!
  9. Yup, definitely on the same boat as you. I haven't read any of my letter of recommendations so I can't say whether or not they were good. As for grades, I worked my butt off to show a consistent trend but it only changed my overall gpa very little. I hope that they really do see me as a whole applicant and what I have accomplished. If you don't mind me asking, have you applied to NYU before?
  10. Thanks and good luck to you too! I'm sure that everyone here like myself is constantly checking our email. I'm with you in hoping it is next week!
  11. Thanks. Good luck to you too and congrats to your acceptance!
  12. Haha we definitely got to bring SoCal! To answer your questions about the letter of recs, sorry but mine were already sent out. As for Hoag, I would really keep in touch with them and make sure it mails out and possibly use express/priority mail. It's just that it takes roughly about 3-5 business days to mail a letter to New York.
  13. I see. That makes total sense! I thought you got a chance to see it! Don't worry, I'm sure that this factor is not going to determine your status. You have accomplished a lot!
  14. Like previous threads, each of them said they accept well-rounded students. So I guess that can justify the "lower gpas"? I have to admit, you have impressive educational stats. How do you know that you have a not so strong letter of recommendation? I never seen what my recommenders wrote about me because they sent it directly to the admissions office. You are very fortunate to see what your recommender wrote! Other than that, I would try to not worry. I'm sure they will highly consider you since you advanced your education to a master's level!
  15. NYU is definitely my choice. It is a great school with an incomparable "city-setting". it makes me feel closer to home (since I'm from southern california) while I experience the diverse population. In addition, I strongly believe that I will receive the top of the line education and training from the faculty.
