Nyu Accelerated BSN spring 2014

Published

Hello everyone! I made this thread in order to find everyone is also also planning on applying NYU accelerated nursing program. The application for the spring opens on October 1st and I am so excited! :)

You both have great backgrounds... Me on the other hand didn't show too much maturity early in my undergrads.. Was first dismissed in LIU... Hated all the social sciences English etc.. but I ended up finishing my bachelors with a 3.05.. tried to take my masters few years back but I didn't find computers that interesting anymore.. Had 3.65 CGPA for the graduate courses.. Worked in Beth emergency room during undergrad, Employee of the month for a Fortune 500, science GPA will be 2.94 after this semester... I wish I could erase my history of being dismissed, but I can't..

Realdream, jersey is a nice place, but I would check out Brooklyn queens.. Not sure abt the bx.. Lol no offense to my peepols in the bx reading this post right now.. Lol :-) if u find yourself havin a hard time finding a place, msg me... Other than good luck and congratulations to the two of you! I'm beat! Need to sleep..

Does anyone know how many students they admit per cohort? thanks!!

Has anyone received their financial aid award? I was accepted November 5th and still haven't received one.

Still haven't gotten a decision from NYU... the wait is starting to drive me crazy.

@mr.pogi - i‘m sure they‘ll look favorably on your high graduate GPA

@realdream - i second what mr.pogi said. you should look for places in bk/queens. it‘s no secret to Nee Yorkers that the bridge and tunnel crossings from NJ into Manhattan are almost always delayed. Just watch the morning news or google the holland/lincoln/GW bridge

Does anybody know when the first day of classes is?

@realdream I don't know where you're moving from, but since you received such a late notification, maybe you can ask them if it's possible to defer and begin in the Fall.

I believe the start is on jan 27th

I was admitted a couple of days ago. Applied before the priority deadline. But I actually had to call and it turned out they had mis-classified my application, but they fixed it while I was on the phone and I had my decision within a week of that. FYI my overall GPA is about 3.1, my sciences 3.6 (including C in chemistry). I had strong recommendations and about 100 volunteer hours plus some non-clinical stuff (tutoring, SAT prep volunteering, research lab).

First day is January 27. The academic calendar is here

Just called and they said my application was under review, she said they send out decisions twice a week, and they'll be doing it into December so I really hope I still have a chance (:

well there is option to take train from jersey with no traffic 15 mins commute... my gf/realtor found bunch of places in washington hts but I don't want to pass Harlem on my way.. brrr and Brooklyn wd be 45 mins commute not sure about wanting that..

LOL alright, just a suggestion...and probably something I myself would consider at this point. Good luck with the apt hunting!
