Nyu Accelerated BSN spring 2014

Published

Hello everyone! I made this thread in order to find everyone is also also planning on applying NYU accelerated nursing program. The application for the spring opens on October 1st and I am so excited! :)

First day is January 27. The academic calendar is here

Thanks!

well there is option to take train from jersey with no traffic 15 mins commute... my gf/realtor found bunch of places in washington hts but I don't want to pass Harlem on my way.. brrr and Brooklyn wd be 45 mins commute not sure about wanting that..

true, i forgot about the PATH train.. if so, looking at places in hoboken might be a good choice for you

LOL alright, just a suggestion...and probably something I myself would consider at this point. Good luck with the apt hunting!

Thank you..I don't understand why wd smb who decided to apply to school of his dream defer it.. We have 2 whole months! I was about to move to another state 4 hours from me for the school that starts in just a month so for this one I'm less nervous since I only have to move 5 miles away... The only thing at this point I'm just waiting to get approved for loans

It is better to live in NY though if you consider applying for state loan or grant... Ugh I just don't see anyth affordable..:(

I hope everyone is well. My name is Christina. I was accepted to 15 month BSN program at NYU Spring 2014. I from San Jose CA, but I'll moving from Durham NC.

I was looking for apts close to path train in jersey or manhattan (60 street and down)... Manhattan a lot of options for 1700-1800$ a month

Assuming I get in, but I am looking for something under $1000 a month, utilities included. I was thinking Brooklyn but if I can swing Lower Manhattan for that much, even better! To those of you looking, I would suggest joining the Facebook group of people accepted for Spring 2014.

Did call them up check your application status. Sometimes the application status on the NYU Albert home page does not really indicate your application status. I know the wait can be stressful. Hang in there. I know the feeling I applied to UNC Chapel Hill Nursing program. There deadline was Aug 10th and they sent out admission decision until mid Oct. I didn't get in. I made an appointment with nursing admission office to find out the reason I why was not admitted to their program.

Stay positive Good luck, I hope you get in

Thank for tip on FB group, but have to wait to be accepted before I can post anything

Christina, if that's your real name I wouldn't advise putting it on message boards.

@ChristinaPetroni, thanks! yeah i have been in contact several times throughout the last couple of weeks and they are still reviewing it. the wait is very stressful, but mostly because i only applied to NYU and other deadlines are approaching and i dont know what to do.

I am applying for the NYU accelerated program for Fall 2014. My undergrad GPA is about a 3.6 and I have almost all of my pre-req's done. I am from CA and am curious if anyone knows the stats. for getting in. Any input would be highly appreciated.

some more real estate thoughts:

It may be a 15 minute ride on the Path train but you might be looking at a 10 plus minute walk from the Path to NYU and also a 10 or more minute walk to the Path from Hoboken or Jersey City. Plus the wait. So you easily are looking at a 35 to 45 minute commute. But - part of this is study time.

Also, regarding have to go through Harlem on the train - I wouldn't worry about it. The train is very safe at almost all times of the day. And parts of Harlem are actually rather nice, close to the park, and close to express trains at 125th street.

Unless someone is willing to heavily subsidize your rent most everyone will need to look outside of areas walking distance to the school. Shares are going to be at least $1300 or more a month.
