Hello everyone! I made this thread in order to find everyone is also also planning on applying NYU accelerated nursing program. The application for the spring opens on October 1st and I am so excited! :)
Hi guys... I applied like the middle of October (regular decision) and got accepted on Nov 5th... so I don't think it really matters whether you applied priority or not! Hope that helps. Also, the admissions offer should show up before you pay because you have to accept the offer and then apply your payment!

Yeah I don't think that matters, I sent everyth out by sept 2nd and just got an answer.. so when do we receive hard copy? I submitted payment & got confirmation but now dont see any admission offer page & only see application under process... weird so have no idea what to do next, how to submit criminal backrg & immuniz. (Feels like de ja vu coz I did it all for other school already since nyu took long lol;)
Good luck everyone still waiting!
Hey guys I've been a silent reader since October, but I figured what the hell might as well join in. My application was received on 10/30 and I was accepted on 11/19. I currently have three pre-reqs in progress. I'm not sure how it is they go about picking their applicants, but I think if your essay and recommendations were good, they'll pull you through.
My recommendation wasn't as strong, but I think my essay was & had 4.0 prereqs, & 3.6 degree... plus EMT license...I wasn't sure they accept good gpa, lately most wd get in with pretty low one, but I guess with over 100 seats you start looking more than just GPA... I'm confused as where to move now & how to register to classes..
In the email where they sent your decision, it says 'Information about housing, orientation, advisement, and registration will be sent to you after you confirm your enrollment online'. I received another email today to set up my NYU email account so I guess sometime soon they'll start sending out more information through that.
Thanks realdream for sharing your background... I would suggest to definitely stay off the city. Other than it's ridiculously expensive, it's can also be a major distraction. Also gives you a chance to prepare before class or even reflect after clinical... I wish I would've took my undergrad more seriously... I didn't show much maturity until later on the years; although, I still somewhat of a kid.. all good, I'll just cross my fingers and maybe my toes also and hope for the best! :-)
I'm pursing a B.A in biology with a psych minor. As of last semester I have a 3.448 cGPA. My prereqs grades are B+ in chem lecture, A+ in the lab, B in A&P II, A- in Micro, A+ in Stat and I currently have nutrition, A&P I and lifespan psych in progress. With the semesters' end nearing I think it's safe to say I'll get As in those three. I've been a volunteer tutor for the past three years and as of September this year I started volunteering at a nursing home. Other than this, I had what I thought was a strong essay and recommendation letter. I think it's really hard to compare GPA related statistics to other candidates especially in a second degree program. People come from different fields and it's pointless to compare a GPA if your not in the same major. Even within a major, differences exist between people who take a light course load and get As compared to someone who took a heavy course load and managed to get a B or higher.
They just play with what they have that's all, after a long experience I'm sure they already know what type of person they need, but since it is a big load of people mistakes happen.. that's where 89% nclex pass rate comes...but I love knowing that the school is wanted, makes you feel special even inside of 1000 people..
mr. pogi I believe so too, but if I find reasonable deal (though I doubt it in 1 week that I have before I have to move out from my house now) I wd definitely move to the city... but I better live in north jersey than live in Harlem...better & safer commute

I agree with bcbischo... I shouldn't b worried cuz I know I am awesome! I did try to compare myself to what a typical nyu student would be like according to gender, age, work habits, etc.. I believe it's in the the nyu home when you click the link to globe smart link or something... anyways, to make long story short, that tool somewhat tricked my mind of thinking that I'm already an nyu student.. Lol... anyways, I sincerely would like to wish everyone else good luck... I believe that because we spend so much time here in this awesome web site and letting the universe how much are heart really wants it.. we will be getting it.. so the odds is really in your favor... Just be careful of what you wish for.. $90K debt is a lot heavier to shoulder if you will not enjoy every damn words the professors will say or the experiences you are about to have...
I really have to finish my stupid nutrition paper! I have written more here in this stupid web site compared to this freakin paper! :-)
