  1. I believe the start is on jan 27th
  2. You both have great backgrounds... Me on the other hand didn't show too much maturity early in my undergrads.. Was first dismissed in LIU... Hated all the social sciences English etc.. but I ended up finishing my bachelors with a 3.05.. tried to take my masters few years back but I didn't find computers that interesting anymore.. Had 3.65 CGPA for the graduate courses.. Worked in Beth emergency room during undergrad, Employee of the month for a Fortune 500, science GPA will be 2.94 after this semester... I wish I could erase my history of being dismissed, but I can't.. Realdream, jersey is a nice place, but I would check out Brooklyn queens.. Not sure abt the bx.. Lol no offense to my peepols in the bx reading this post right now.. Lol :-) if u find yourself havin a hard time finding a place, msg me... Other than good luck and congratulations to the two of you! I'm beat! Need to sleep..
  3. Thanks realdream for sharing your background... I would suggest to definitely stay off the city. Other than it's ridiculously expensive, it's can also be a major distraction. Also gives you a chance to prepare before class or even reflect after clinical... I wish I would've took my undergrad more seriously... I didn't show much maturity until later on the years; although, I still somewhat of a kid.. all good, I'll just cross my fingers and maybe my toes also and hope for the best! :-)
  4. Hey momo91, are you from queens ny? If you don't mind, can you message me (privately if you prefer) what are your credentials like? CGPA, prereqs GPA, work history, certifications and such.. Really would appreciate it.. :-)
  5. I agree with bcbischo... I shouldn't b worried cuz I know I am awesome! I did try to compare myself to what a typical nyu student would be like according to gender, age, work habits, etc.. I believe it's in the the nyu home when you click the link to globe smart link or something... anyways, to make long story short, that tool somewhat tricked my mind of thinking that I'm already an nyu student.. Lol... anyways, I sincerely would like to wish everyone else good luck... I believe that because we spend so much time here in this awesome web site and letting the universe how much are heart really wants it.. we will be getting it.. so the odds is really in your favor... Just be careful of what you wish for.. $90K debt is a lot heavier to shoulder if you will not enjoy every damn words the professors will say or the experiences you are about to have... I really have to finish my stupid nutrition paper! I have written more here in this stupid web site compared to this freakin paper! :-)
  6. I'm not sure if that's true because I submitted my application on August 8th, my application status states that I'm a regular decision. It's been 15th week for me and still no decision. Also, some people are getting their notices much earlier and they submitted their application much later than me. Their web site only says that decisions will be emailed first week of December. I'm thinking that they are filtering for people that are doing well academically and also for people that are not up to their standards. An average of 40K yearly application sounds a lot to me. At this moment, either you get accepted or rejected, and if you don't hear anything by then, most likely a mass email of congratulations will be sent out to everyone. But then again, this is just an assumption and I tend to make an *** out of myself...
  7. "Party Up" DMXThese waiting crap is making me go nuts! Can barely focus with my last prereqs! But congratulations to all who have been accepted! Each day I pray; I even have a collection of lucky charms in my pocket each day, from crickets, a small little Buddha, bamboo sticks, four leaf clover, and a wishing bone! ******I'll just do my paper.. Lol.
  8. Took the exam today and passed. Hopefully, a few people will find my post helpful. I'm going to try not to repeat what already may have been posted from the few blogs I found prior to my exam. I just wanted to emphasize the importance of keeping track of time; make sure, when your doing your practice test to get in the habbit of doing time check every few questions or so. The testing site does not allow anyone entering the exam room if you have anything other than your locker key, your ID, ear plugs, and scratch paper and pens, which they will provide you. You have a very little timer on the upper right that is so easy to forget if you get caught up in the exam. Review guides: HESI is fantastic with the edition 3 of the guide; however, they need to proofread their material because I'm pretty sure there are errors in it other than what I have found. If you will be using HESI by elseviere, please note that 1 pound is "not equal" 2.2kgs. It's the other way around, 1 kg = 2.2 lbs. My suggestion is to use elseviere's study guide, McGraw, and mometrix. Practice! practice! practice! The exam is easy, but time and amount of questions is against your side. For people who dread math! DO NOT FEAR! CALCULATOR IS NEAR! Just make sure you understand the problem. EXAM SEQUENCE: Finish your strongest subject first to your weakest. When I say strongest, the category that you can complete with the least amount of time and answer most amount of questions correctly. I did Vocab, Grammar, Math and Reading. In the actual test, I got 86 in vocab, 94 in grammar, 100 in math, and 78 in reading. I almost ran out of time in the reading portion of the exam so I had to click anything just so I can get lucky in passing the reading portion of it; although, I was doing 94s in my reading practice. I have to go and celebrate for now; hopefully, I maybe able to continue this topic later on. Good luck to you all!
  9. If you will be using the 3rd edition Study guide by HESI, be careful. The math section contains error, i.e., the conversion from metric to US unit of measurement. Although it is easy to understand, HESI did not give a crap about the correctness of their study guide. Probably was intentional to increase profit margin from all the book sales and people having to retake the test. Conversion is a huge portion of the exam; imagine taking the test only using the study guide by HESI, and thinking that for every 1 lb there is 2.2kgs. Good luck!!! I take the exam tomorrow... Would be a perfect bday gift for me if I pass the exam!
