I just started my application for NYU's ABSN program for Fall 2010. I heard they might not even be accepting applications for fall yet, though, since the spring deadline was only about a week ago. Is anyone else applying here for fall? Also, does anyone know what their average GPA for accepted students is? Would it help to submit my GRE scores even though they don't require it? Sorry I know its a lot of questions but I'm already nervous for admissions
this link should help with questions on NYU and the application process...

i collected all my transcripts and 1 of my recommendations and sent it all in 1 envelope to the undergraduate processing center. however, one of my recommenders lives in the city where i went to school so it was easier for her to just send it to nyu rather than send it to me and then i send it. I tried calling NYU to see if they could tell me if they got it (since she sent it before I sent my envelope) but the people told me that they couldn't tell me right now because they are so busy.
Hey IheartNYC -
Definitely go by the link that Jpena8 posted regarding the address for application materials and it should answer lots of other questions as well!
I had my school(s) send the transcripts to NYU. Normally you fill out a transcript request form that your old college/university has (most likely from the registrar's office). And then once you give it back to them with all the info the wonderful people there will send it to NYU in the sealed envelope with the school's official stamp etc...
My references gave me the letters of recommendation and I sent them in priority mail with tracking number. However, it is important that each letter is on official school/work letterhead and in a sealed envelope (hopefully with letterhead as well).
Once you have your PM rights feel free to send me a message with any other questions!
Good luck!
HI,
I am joining the thread. I plan on submitting my app by March 1st deadline. Pls keep me informed of your submissions and decisions.
Not sure how it works though. I'm also open to answering any questions. Does anyone know how hard it is to get into the program? I think the tuition is really expensive. Any thoughts? Good thing is is that it will be done in 15 mos. Any thoughts with how rigorous the program is?? Or does the program offer support and tutoring to ensure that all pass/graduate in 15 mos. Any input is appreciated?
My pre-reqs include,
Anat - A
Physio C
Micro A
Stats - B
Nutrition - A
Developmental Psych - A
Chem - B
Thanks! And I'll keep you posted when I get an update from Admissions and a decision letter.
I found the following videos pretty helpful. They are 3 videos from a past open house:

hope this is useful to someone.
Hey Genu9ine and iheartnyc -Just to let you know - there are a few of us at NYU who are Second-Degree BSN's that have been accepted to the Nursing College and need to finish pre-reqs this semester. After that we can join the Accelerated Program in the Fall (2010) or finish the program at a "normal" pace.
I also sent my application in super early as well - I believe I sent it in Sept. 1st for an Oct. 15th deadline - then I received my acceptance letter about Nov. 5th. It is definitely a mixed blessing sending the the app in early - it is a long wait to hear back from the admissions department!
Also - I did all the short answers and the "D" essay question. NYU definitely wants to see everybody's writing style and learn abit more about the applicants as individuals. Also - just to let you know - I sent in my resume as well.
If you have any other questions - feel free to send me a message!
Good Luck and I hope to see you in the Fall at NYU!
Alison

Hey ackAlison!
First of all....THANK YOU for your thorough and timely responses!! I work full time and go to school at night, so this board (especially responses like yours) has/have been SO HELPFUL!! (saves me tons of time making phone calls, etc) Today's QUESTION(s): Where did you send your rec. letters? Did you have the person who wrote it give it to you, then submit it yourself, or did they send it directly to NYU? Not sure how that's usually done.....
I'm sure I'll have more questions along the way, so once again, THANK YOU TIMES TEN! Hope to meet you very soon!
