I just started my application for NYU's ABSN program for Fall 2010. I heard they might not even be accepting applications for fall yet, though, since the spring deadline was only about a week ago. Is anyone else applying here for fall? Also, does anyone know what their average GPA for accepted students is? Would it help to submit my GRE scores even though they don't require it? Sorry I know its a lot of questions but I'm already nervous for admissions
Hey Genu9ine and iheartnyc -
Just to let you know - there are a few of us at NYU who are Second-Degree BSN's that have been accepted to the Nursing College and need to finish pre-reqs this semester. After that we can join the Accelerated Program in the Fall (2010) or finish the program at a "normal" pace.
I also sent my application in super early as well - I believe I sent it in Sept. 1st for an Oct. 15th deadline - then I received my acceptance letter about Nov. 5th. It is definitely a mixed blessing sending the the app in early - it is a long wait to hear back from the admissions department!
Also - I did all the short answers and the "D" essay question. NYU definitely wants to see everybody's writing style and learn abit more about the applicants as individuals. Also - just to let you know - I sent in my resume as well.
If you have any other questions - feel free to send me a message!
Good Luck and I hope to see you in the Fall at NYU!
Alison
Hey!
As long as we are in good academic standing we can follow into the 15 month/normal progression without reapplying. The assumption is that all Second Degree Students will enter into the ABSN program.
I believe Hunter makes everybody reapply after the pre-reqs are completed. Not sure though.
Oh sorry! I called and asked about this before I applied. I double checked again the other day as I finished registering for classes.
If you have any questions about anything re: NYU- you should email or call NYU - she is very helpful and understanding of the whole process. Do you have her information?
I understand - but, I am sure it will be fine! I know it sounds much easier than it is - but don't stress once the applications have gone in! I totally freaked out and applied to practically every school in the immediate NYC area. And it was really hard to wait for all those weeks for all those letters!
If you did apply to CMSV they are rolling - (at least they were for Spring) and they send the letters out pretty quick.
Good luck! I am sure you will get in!

Yeah that confused me as well (fall starters already being accepted). I was thinking maybe some of them defered their acceptance or had to wait ? Or maybe they are transfers that have to take some of the pre-reqs. Lol I dunno. I just know for a fact I was told i'd have to wait till after the deadline.
I don't live anywhere close to ny either but planned on making a trip up there in the near future. Since I haven't gone to an info session I figured maybe I could check that out while i was there.
