NYU ABSN Fall 2017

Published

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone was applying to NYU for the ABSN program in fall 2017? I'm kind of nervous because my GPA isn't the highest since I had to work all four years to help pay for school which took away from my studying time. I do have work experience in the health care field and a little over 100 hours of health related volunteering. Also, how is everyone planning on paying for school since it is soo expensive?

Does anyone know when health forms are due? Ive seen either 6 week before class starts or may 15? ( seems to close to be possible in my opinion)

I think it's 6 weeks prior to the first day of class.

Hello everyone, I had question about financial aid package. I got accepted into the program but haven't received anything yet. Also for those who have received and don't mind sharing if the aid was efficient enough to finance the program. I spoke to financial aid office and they told me they offer it upto the cost of attendance. I don't know how it will work.

My aid offer combining the scholarship, work-study, and subsidized/unsubsidized loans came to a little less than half the tuition cost per semester.

Thank you @andreahm.

Tuition is super expensive and when we add other expenses like housing and all its to the roof!!

I hope my financial package has something better lol considering my parents income.

did anyone apply regular decision and receive a response?

I did. I applied march 19 and found out April 7th.

Blackberrymousse, I got in! Thanks for asking. Yeah, hoping everyone else here gets their decision soon!

Jazminjfuertes, doesn't hurt to submit the Fafsa application. If you're accepted, you'll have your fin aid packet sooner. I submitted mine today and I might have to wait a week to get my packet. Home - FAFSA on the Web - Federal Student Aid

Good luck!

Thank you! I'll hope on it :)

I've been quietly stalking this thread. This morning I received an email asking for my course syllabi for anatomy & physiology. I've taken then at graduate level. The moment I saw the email I sent them in and got a super fast reply that I'm "all set!". So of course I asked when I'll hear back with an admissions decision and was told sometime this week. I'm beyond nervous. Non traditional student finishing up a masters in science. My graduate grades aren't the best since our courses are beyond intense. But my undergrad grades are very high. So far everything is checked off on Albert, my financial aid has been received and also shows up on Albert. It's such a tedious process!

Has anyone solidified their housing plans yet? I'm waiting to find out my financial aid award (I filled out the FAFSA late so I just got a notification today that it's been processed and sent on to the school) although I'm not expecting it to be very much.

Also, when you click on Admission Decision on Albert, what does the Effective Date mean? Is that the date that you are supposed to Accept/Decline? In my decision letter it said that I had two weeks from the date of my decision letter but the actual letter is not dated although I received it on 04/17.

Never mind, false alarm!

Anyone nailed down their housing plans yet?

No housing plans for me yet. As soon as this semester ends I'm gonna try to make myself a list of areas to check out and then take a trip to visit some apartments that are hopefully somewhat affordable :)
