NYU ABSN Fall 2013 Entry

Published

Hello everyone! I have submitted my application and my transcripts to NYU for the ABSN program beginning in fall 2013! I am very excited but surprised that we will be hearing so late about an admission decision. Is anyone else applying?

I got an acceptance email and then a week later I got an acceptance packet in the mail which basically had the email info but in paper form.

@binggrad what Do you mean you got it in The mail (postage mail Or Email?)

I got an email with my acceptance and then I got an envelope in the mail about a week later with the same information in a paper format.

@Celticcub, do you know what the NYUCN scholarship is for? I'm trying to figure out if the school gives out any scholarship money. I checked their website and they seem to only have 1 scholarship you have to apply for that Accelerated BSN students can apply for. I know Columbia automatically gives each student a scholarship that ranges from 5k-25k to make the program a little more affordable.

hey guys! I just rejected my NYU offer so a spot just opened up! Good luck to y'all! :)

Yes, I was referring to the the NYUCN scholarship. Just hoping to know if anyone received anything more substantial than ~ $4k...? I also have a very well paying job and will be taking a pay cut when I start a career in nursing so I know that is not helping my case for a scholarship increase. But ultimately my work life balance will be much more reasonable

If you dont mind me asking ....what is your job currently? why Did.you decide to leave your job to Pursue nursing?

if you Dont Mind me Asking .....why did you decide to leave your job for Nursing at this point In your career?

it looks to me like the NYUCN scholarship is similar to the Columbia one you refer to. it only says NYUCN scholarship. i didn't apply for anything additional at the time i completed FAFSA. its technically just the school trying to help out.

justme2018 - I currently work as a Management Consultant for a large, reputable firm. It was a dream job when I graduated with my first undergrad degree. While the pay is more than I can ever dream of earning as a nurse, the hours and travel required are too exhausting. I never know where I will have to be and at a moments notice I may have to hop a plane for another country. I have had amazing experiences, have traveled all over, met interesting people, learned the in and outs of many, many corporations but I have learned to be happy I need a better work-life balance. Nursing has always been appealing to me (3 12-hour shifts) and I would like to be helping people rather than sitting in an office, calculating ways a large corporations can increase profits.

I didn't hear anything this morning. Anyone else?

No more than 31 days and 9 Tuesday/Thursday to go until we hear!
