NYU ABSN Fall 2013 Entry

I had a 3.9 GPA /bachelors in psychology- and went one semester to NYU social work- I dropped out and decided to make a career switch to nursing. I have around a 3.9 in my prereqs (taking anatomy II now, and microbio in summer)- I had a pretty strong personal statement, but not too much work experience. Really grateful to have gotten in. My decision is due May 16

We have been in the same boat since the very beginning. I am super nervous and I am not sure on how to feel. How are you holding up?

Helwafufu,

I am just taking it day by day. Every Tuesdays or Thrusdays that emails are being sent out and I don't get mine I get a little discouraged but at the same time I think it is better than getting a rejection email. Although, sometimes I rather have an answer right away just because I think they are just delaying my rejection. I haven't heard anything from Pace either even though I was called for an interview (I guess most people haven't heard from them either at least from what I see in the forum). To be honest, I still keep my hopes up and wish one of those two schools accepts me but I also know that I need to start thinking about next year's admissions and get ready to apply to other schools beside NYU and Pace and also look for ways to make myself a better cadidate.

Oh well... let's just wait and hope for the best. Good luck!

Hey helwafufu and Mairayhans and other applicants,

I am also still waiting to hear back from NYU. It's been a nerve wrecking ride for me ever since other applicants have started to receive an answer. I have been saying that no news can still be good news! I wonder if they send out rejections at the same time as acceptances.

I know from looking at previous posts that they have been sending out rejection emails the same day (around the same time) they have sent out acceptance emails. For me, not having received a rejection email means I am still alive but for how long? who knows....

So I called and was told that my application was under review, and that they will be sending out notifications through the end of May. Quick calendar calculation tells me that we have no more than 36 days that we will have to wait to hear our good or bad news! Or to drill it down a little more, 10 more Tuesday & Thursday notification days where we stalk our email account and this board. I laugh while I cry.

Let the countdown begin!

NYU is the only school I applied to, its the only school I want to go to also. But I am also preparing my self for next year if I don't get in. =(

This is not easy.....

but lets hope for the best.
