NYU ABSN Fall 2013 Entry

Published

Hello everyone! I have submitted my application and my transcripts to NYU for the ABSN program beginning in fall 2013! I am very excited but surprised that we will be hearing so late about an admission decision. Is anyone else applying?

If you don't mind me asking how much was tuition? $70,000?

Also, did they cover at least more than half of tuition costs?

Specializes in surgical, geriatrics.

Tomorrow is another day. Good luck to everyone who is also still waiting.

Hi Simplybliss,

Sorry I didn't respond sooner...haven't checked into All Nurses in a while! My undergrad GPA was nothing stellar, a 3.1. I was a health policy major from a decent school but I graduated 15 years ago! So, I have 15 years of work and life experience. I do have a 4.0 in my pre-reqs, but honestly, I believe I got accepted because I'm an "older" applicant with numerous years of work and life experience and I'd like to believe I had quite a strong essay that helped "set me apart" (at least I hope so, lol!)

If it helps, I never worked in the health field nor have I ever volunteered in that capacity despite holding a degree in Health Policy. I spent my years working in institutional finance and corporate communications.

I don't think NYU wants that typical nursing applicant, they seem to be looking for people from different walks of life.

Hope that helps!! Best of luck!

anything today?

Nothing here either. Maybe they are mixing it up and deviating from their Tuesday/Thursday between 8:30 and 9 AM notification pattern:)

Last year the week before decisions were due from the selected candidates.....they stopped sending decisions....im not sure if they are doing the same this year

I think they are waiting to hear from people. If more people decline their acceptance, more seats will be available therefore they don't have to reject potential candidates.

Has anyone who applied to finish their prerequs at NYU this Fall and start with the Spring 2014 class heard back either way?

Are all decisions due May 1st? I thought you had three/four weeks from when you heard to accept/decline. I didn't realize there was an overall deadline :)

My deadline was May 1.

I was notified in early April.
