Hello everyone! I have submitted my application and my transcripts to NYU for the ABSN program beginning in fall 2013! I am very excited but surprised that we will be hearing so late about an admission decision. Is anyone else applying?
If you don't mind me asking how much was tuition? $70,000?Also, did they cover at least more than half of tuition costs?
Tuition schedule here - just over $20K/semester with associated registration fees
NYU > Office of the Bursar > Tuition/Fees > Fall and Spring > College of Nursing (Undergraduate)
Hi Simplybliss,
Sorry I didn't respond sooner...haven't checked into All Nurses in a while! My undergrad GPA was nothing stellar, a 3.1. I was a health policy major from a decent school but I graduated 15 years ago! So, I have 15 years of work and life experience. I do have a 4.0 in my pre-reqs, but honestly, I believe I got accepted because I'm an "older" applicant with numerous years of work and life experience and I'd like to believe I had quite a strong essay that helped "set me apart" (at least I hope so, lol!)
If it helps, I never worked in the health field nor have I ever volunteered in that capacity despite holding a degree in Health Policy. I spent my years working in institutional finance and corporate communications.
I don't think NYU wants that typical nursing applicant, they seem to be looking for people from different walks of life.
Hope that helps!! Best of luck!
