I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

Oh yes I've heard they are holding license . I wish you the best of luck

Yes thank you. I'm praying and hoping for the best.
Quity said:So @starr2022 why is the BON, the fbi, the board of education not acknowledging that this was an ACTUAL school that scammed students rather than making it seem like a place to shop for transcripts. The story in the media and on this forum is not true for a LOT of the students from the school. If anything the students are victims and should get some sympathy instead of the constant bashing and embarrassment. People have lost money and time and are currently going through depression from this lengthy case of scam which was selfishly purported by owners of the school.
right since they are selling fake transcripts( with official signature and seal )right the school or its fromer employees. which is why we have put all graduates on hold. it is going to take extensive research to a ) . know how long this has been going on( so who knows how long this has been going on before it was actually discovered b) who actually went to the school legitiametly( which means cross referencing with other establishments IE student loan or what ever other aspect they choose to cross reference with ). with that being said that review and research is going to take a while. c) and those who fraudulety got licenses, finding all states they received one in and taking those proper measures to revoke license. which I know noone wants to hear but that is the reality of things when people want to be fraudlent on a larger spectrum.
investigations on this level state or federal have several layers and aspects that have to be looked at and taken account for
Tara45 said:@starr you're wrong NYS takes forever to process your application got license in NYC as PHysical therapist has to call them everyday about my application. NYS is very strict when it comes to licensing therefore they wouldn't allow those students to sit for the NCLEX if they didn't meet the requirements.
You're absolutely right. Something has to be right before they let these students to take the exam.

It only needs to be approved. The Florida board of nursing no longer approves these programs.
QuoteNew York Board of Nursing NCLEX Requirements
Have good moral character.
Be at least 17 years old (LPN licensure) or at least 18 years old (RN licensure)
Have graduated high school/equivalency.
Graduated from a state-approved nursing education program.
Carleen's student handbook from 2016 states that "fees" can be refundable.
QuoteStudents enrolled in the LPN-BSN transition program pay an estimated tuition of $17,835. Students enrolled in the RN-BSN transition program pay an estimated tuition of $11,310. The cost of books is not included. Other costs may vary and include fees for exams, technology, student services, uniforms, and labs. All fees paid by the student to CHI, except for the registration fee, are refundable. All related costs for programs are printed
@londonflo Who's approving these school, if Florida is not. How are they not aware.

Florida BON just approves the curriculum as stated when it is delivered to them. They cannot do site visits to actually see what is happening. It used to be that a for-profit school had to have a 10% below national average (usually 82-85%) for 3 years running.. Schools started instituting an 'exit exam' to bar low performing students from graduating.
The State instituted a new criteria. Schools had to obtain accreditation for CCNE or ACEN within 5 years or less for long time existing schools. But unfortunately even after a school knew they were going to lose approval they continued to admit students, collect tuition and fees.
Everyone needs to complain to the Florida Department of education, the FBON, the Office of the Governor ,I have read here he is VERY business $$$ focused. (I don't live in Florida so don't know) but it is best to contact every congressperson or state senator ) if you are effected. One in 17 nurses is a Registered voter. We count and we can hurt them in an election. Stop waiting for NYS or other states
Also send letters to the ANA and your local SNA. Aren't they there to protect our education and license?
AS they say here:
QuoteMembership in ANA is central to your development as a nurse. From the moment you start your career, we will be there to support and assist your lifelong professional growth. It's a way for you to affect change and be a part of something bigger.
But I tried to list their address for letters but there is none listed. Plenty of ways to pay for ANA enterprises (like ANCC, copyright request, publishing, jobs etc.) Guess they are not interested in hearing from us.
I remember going to health career institute which then changed to hci college . Promised us they were in the process of getting the accen accreditation and never got it til this day

I mean as long as you did not attend none of those then I would not be worried....I mean reading the article these people didn't even go to nursing school and the program was terminated
Some People did go to school. Why is assuming some did not

How is the school fake. If student's are able to take the NCLEX? The school had to be accredited for student to be allowed to take the NCLEX.
