NVCC Spring 2018 Hybrid Program

Published

Hey all! Starting a thread for those applying to NVCC (Northern Virginia Com Coll) for the spring nursing program! This is my second time applying - tried for last Spring but didn't make it - my grades are a mix of mostly B's and some A's and I got 87.5, 80 and 90 on my TEAS sections. I really wish they'd let us use LORs or at least consider work experience. And I'm so glad they raised the TEAS requirements back to 78 - I heard that threw everything off for last year and that's why so many people applied. I also heard that they are accepting more people overall this year, so fingers crossed!!!

May the odds be ever in our favor

I did........yay! I will also start in January...I can't waste anymore time....I need to be back on the medical field working full time....BTW my name is Merly...what's yours?

My name is Vivian. Have you received your acceptance letter yet. My friend already got hers on Monday. How I applied later, I'm still waiting for mine. Can't wait to start.

For those of you who are going to Chamberlain-

How was the application process?

Do your credits transfer?

Did you take NAS?

I think the deadline is already past, but you can check if they will make an exception. And, yes! They accept NAS.

Chamberlain, you apply online. Just fill that little form, and fill the online application. If you save it, incase you do not have the application fee right now, then they will still call you. They will send you an email with the number to call to talk to someone. They will put a dedicated admissions counsellor on your case to answer all these questions. So, if I were you, I would fill the little online form, and the application it leads you to. You have nothing to loose by doing this.

I would ask for when the next class begins. You need to get that information from admissions.

They take most of your nova prereqs, but I doubt they would take NAS because it is a BSN, not an associates. Ask them. They are very helpful. Email unofficial copies of your transcripts, and they will email you back what will probably transfer. Then you can decide whether to do the transcript evaluation and pay the application fee. I would have given you what they said would transfer for me, but I am uncomfortable posting my email here. But they took most of my nova

I will. What can one do? I can not go into huge debt for a degree especially that I presently have a job I manage with.

I agree. Are you going to attempt to retake TEAS or anything? I cant remember if you posted scores, but thought they were on the higher end
