NVCC Spring 2018 Hybrid Program

Published

Hey all! Starting a thread for those applying to NVCC (Northern Virginia Com Coll) for the spring nursing program! This is my second time applying - tried for last Spring but didn't make it - my grades are a mix of mostly B's and some A's and I got 87.5, 80 and 90 on my TEAS sections. I really wish they'd let us use LORs or at least consider work experience. And I'm so glad they raised the TEAS requirements back to 78 - I heard that threw everything off for last year and that's why so many people applied. I also heard that they are accepting more people overall this year, so fingers crossed!!!

May the odds be ever in our favor

I plan on retaking the teas even though I had2 scores in the 90s (98, 92) and one in the 80s (83)

Your scores are really good. Do you know why you didn't get accepted?

What is happening? Look on this thread. Someone was accepted with an average score of 89%. You have 91% from scores you posted. Surely, it is not GPA difference. Something is up. I have a 86% average. 100, 79, 80.

Please how do you guys score so high in reading and english. Help please.

No idea why I didn't get accepted. My GPA was good, TEAS good, I even have a bachelors of science from Virginia Tech. Noooo idea.

Hopefully, we will next year. The only hurdle now is developmental psychology.

My GPA is all science classes, PSY classes, SDV and med. terminology. I had As in everything except BIO 142 where I got a B+.

Did you get in?

I did. I just got an acceptance letter last Thursday. Mr. Shaw (the admin assistant for 1st year nursing students) also called within minutes of sending the email to make sure I got it. I was caught off guard because I assumed I didn't get it.

What were your TEAS scores?

what were your teas scores?

reading: 87.2%

math: 84.4%

english: 95.8%

While I'm happy for you, I don't get I did not get in with my scores. I got a 98, 92 and 83 with a great gpa and all co reqs done. Makes no sense and it's frustrating

While I agree that your scores are good, what was your actual GPA? It seems like some of those who were accepted (at least 2 that I know personally) have a 4.0 GPA.
