  1. Hey Genie, have you told them now you can't start? I bet they would be glad you did. They have hardly spent money on you for training and all that and I'm sure they have a second in line candidate. No hard feelings. Whenever you are ready to work for them, I think they'll gladly accept you. Let me know how it goes. I worked for Sentara too.
  2. Go to SIS.. Class schedules are up. They are likely to be close to same next time around. Click on clinicals to see various places and see which is closest to you.
  3. These guys are just experimenting. They are likely to hit the same problem next year.. So many people will be new to the science portion. Fingers crossed.
  4. new requirements | The MEC Exchange
  5. Yes, please by all means apply. It doesn't hurt. I feel bad that that 3% is gonna cause you some headache. What u can say is this. You have set your eyes and heart on something good. Never give up no matter the hurdles. What you stand to gain is so much more and covers all the stress you going through now. I wish you the best of luck.
  6. Sorry dear, no harm intended. Are you angry because I asked where you heard from? First, the application period has not ended. First, you asked with the definite article "the". You wrote: "the acceptance email". You also said you heard someone from cohort 1 got in. So do we still need to talk about speech? Calm down dear..I am on your side. Good luck with the TEAS tomorrow.
  7. Jeez... Man got to work man.. And I wanna work more than 20 hrs.. Shhhh... Anyway, thanks for the heads up. I did not say I was sure about the novelty of the program not being a reason. I said it was likely not the main reason. I think the major reason is the application criteria which is tougher and I think we have at least one person in this thread attesting to that. I appreciate you Vg taking time out to come give us some insight here, and I hope to be in the same boat as you later this year... I'm scared though.
  8. Well, I understand your points. My point is, it is hardly the reason for this. What percentage of people would not seek admission because a curriculum is being changed and decide to stay back to watch especially when it is very competitive from year to year? Whether classes or topics are merged, it is going to be the same training as before. Some may become heavier and more difficult, while others would lighten up. It also looks like it is not just NVCC. Other CC in Virginia are also moving to the new format. It could become easier or more difficult. We would see how it goes. VG, how easy is it working full time with classes lets say three 112 hr shifts you can put towards weekend?
  9. Are you affirming that the problem may be about applicant shortage from what you have gathered? On your point, nobody knows how anything is set up. When you enroll in a chemistry or physics course, you as much as guess how it is set up as any course. I doubt these classes would be much different. I am sure you wouldn't scare off a course because you don't know how it is set up. Nice of you to check on us though.
  10. A may 8thbdeadline means they are looking to rake in those who are taking the last of biology of psychology 230 prerequisite. I take it that won't be a lot.. Atleast I doubt it will get to 50. Well, deadline is looming. I hope they send out decisions within two weeks of it.
  11. What you have to do? I can certainly tell you it is not taking what we tell you here. Call MEC, call a faculty staff. Send emails. Get info fast.
  12. Now, I like cheergirlbay's style.. She zoned off and went to Florida to relax.. Lol.. Yes, I agree. It does looks suspicious that a lack of applicants is the issue. But there is nothing else to point at. The method of extension also points to that fact that they are seeking more applicants. Whether it is simply to add to existing applicants or to get the best of the best is what we can not tell. It would be the most unfair thing if they take someone who applies during the extension simply because he is "more" qualified than an applicant who applied during the initial period.
  13. Hahahahaha... Does cohort 1 mean that they are taking you? Careful! Don't raise your hope too high. They will get back to you when they feel like. That is the situation you are in. Let us all hope this happens mid May.
