Published

Hi Everyone!

I really wanted to begin a thread about NVCC's traditional Nursing Program to begin in Fall 2015 (Applications are due May 21 2015). I would like that everybody share her/his experience applying to this program while waiting for the acceptance letters..... and good luck everyone.

PS: i am waiting for my application being processed notification email.

Did anybody receive this notification yet? please let me know :)

Thanks

Hello Everyone!

I am super glad that I came across this post! I too am very anxious about hearing about my acceptance. Sleepless nights studying for Anatomy and Physiology, studying excessively for other classes. I finish all my pre-requisites and co-requisites last summer, with the intent of applying to the Spring 2015 program. Unfortunately, I focused too much on trying to get straight As that I didn't prepare myself for the TEAS Test. I failed twice before the deadline and decided to wait for Fall 2015. I also applied to Germanna Community College ADN Nursing program as a backup plan. However, Germanna said that they wouldn't accept my TEAS scores from NOVA (my score was high enough for their program) and that I would have to take it at their campus again. At that time, it was my third time taking the TEAS Test. NOVA and Germanna use the same student ID number, so you can see all the times I have taken the test. A NOVA advisor said I would still have my third chance for NOVA, and thankfully I was able to pass. Who would have known that the TEAS Test would be that difficult?! Hopefully, NOVA doesn't use that against me. I finished my General Studies associate this past spring and graduated with Magna Cum Laude. I plan on doing Mason's RN-BSN program after completing the ADN program. I apologize for my long post; I just wanted to share. I am sure everyone has their story! Getting into nursing school consist of many sacrifices. I hope to hear about my acceptance soon! I wish everyone the best of luck!

I thought I would go ahead and post a link to the thread that is in the Virginia forum:

Hi guys! My name is Shelli, I'm your Nursing Student Association President. The last couple of years acceptances have been received around the 20th of June so keep an eye out! I look forward to meeting you all, unfortunately I can't be at your orientation, instead you'll meet the VP there, you'll meet me on campus though, I'm all over the place. Good luck, it's going to be a great year!

Also, I would suggest making a FB group once you guys have started getting your acceptance letters. It's been a huge help to previous cohorts.

does anyone know if we HAVE to receive and email saying they are processing our application? I haven't received anything yet. I did send it certified mail and got confirmation that it was delivered. I applied to the LPN to RN program.:)

It looks like that other allied health students have gotten their acceptance letters.

It looks like that other allied health students have gotten their acceptance letters.

Aww really? Well maybe i didnt get in then.:( sighhhhhhhhh. Gota start thinkin of plan B ,)

Aww don't worry dear TEXAS81. Maybe they messed up your email address or something.

And I haven't received an acceptance letter just a confirmation of receipt letter

I haven't even received a confirmation that they received my application. I mailed it certified so i know it got delivered. But thats it ughhhhhhh lol. Thanks for your positivity:)

Don't panic though. From reading previous blogs, NOVA MEC has a history of not having everything in order when it comes to getting emails out to everyone

Check 2014 Nvcc blog on allnurses

I just saw on MEC FB page sayin if u were recently accepted dont forget to sign up for orientation:/ sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. :)

Hey guys,

I think that they probably haven't sent it out for nursing yet. Maybe we will hear tomorrow. I mean none of us have received our letters. And I highly doubt everyone on this blog got rejected, well I'm trying to think positive. Also, if we did get rejected I'm pretty sure we would get it at the same time for those who got accepted. It doesn't make a difference when sending out an email if you are accepted or not.
