  1. You are correct. Thanks for catching that. I revised my worksheet and uploaded a new link above.
  2. Yusuke1990, Great catches! You are correct regarding question #41. My approach was, indeed, incorrect. Looking at the problem #41 again more logically, the answer of 3/4 does not make sense. I've revised my worksheet (removed the erroneous one from Dropbox) and put it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/cln8ru3f94tuvw0/Solution%20for%20math%20problem%2041.pdf?dl=0 I double-checked by working the problem again and converting the 1/200 to the decimal form of 0.005 and achieved the answer of 0.0000333, which is equivalent to 1/30,000. Thanks again for pointing out the discrepancy! Dana Jasper
  3. The equation ends up being 1/200 divided by 1/150, not 150. The 150 is in the denominator which makes it 1/150, not 150. You end up with a fraction of 1/200 over a fraction of 1/150; therefore, to divide one fraction by another fraction you have to invert the second fraction and then multiply. Since the equation is 1/200 divided by 1/150, you invert the second fraction and multiple. The equation becomes 1/200 x 150/1. The review guide, section "O," gives an example of dividing a fraction by another fraction. Dana Jasper (djasper)
  4. According to my calculations, the given answer of 3/4 for problem #41 is correct. If it's of any help, I wrote out my steps, scanned it, and have shared it on Dropbox. You can view it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/65yyo784m3r54r8/Math%20problem%20number%2041.pdf?dl=0
  5. TEXAS81, As a rough estimate for the cost of required books for NUR 111 and NUR 150, maybe look online at the MEC bookstore.
  6. I also received my acceptance letter via email.
  7. I applied for the Traditional Track.
  8. According to the MEC orientation registration page, "This orientation is ONLY for students who have completed the MEC application process and have been officially offered admission by the academic program." Novarn540, have you received an email and/or letter of acceptance for the nursing program?
  9. I did not sign up for an orientation, but when I followed the steps listed above by JerryFosho, I also see the "Traditional Track Nursing Orientation" link. Within the various tabs of this section there is either no information or dated information from 2014. I have not received an acceptance email or letter in the mail. Had it not been for JerryFosho listing how to navigate to this area, I never would have seen it, so I don't have any idea how long it's been there.
  10. midwife1990, This morning while waiting for our 6th grade son's graduation ceremony to begin, I read the email about the MEC being closed today and thought the same thing: more waiting. I had been optimistically hopeful that acceptance emails might be sent out today.
  11. This afternoon (6/16/2015) I received a second email from the MEC stating my application has been received and processed. Today's email had the following comment: "Your Traditional Nursing track application has been received and is being processed. You will be contacted directly by the Nursing department regarding your admission status."
  12. TEXAS81, There is a similar thread to this one over in the General Nursing Student forum where a couple of us have chimed in (link: https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/nvcc-nursing-may-991071.html) It's probably more accurate for us to post here in the Virginia forum. I applied the first week applications were being accepted, so I feel like I've been waiting a long time to know definitively about acceptance. I know there will be some orientations to do over the summer prior to starting Fall semester. The sooner we know, the better so that we can all plan our summer schedules accordingly. Keep us posted if you hear anything via email or mail, and I'll do the same.
  13. I thought I would go ahead and post a link to the thread that is in the Virginia forum: https://allnurses.com/virginia-nursing/northern-virginia-community-991268.html
  14. Sigmone, I received an email on May 28, 2015, from the MEC Counselor (aka Student Services) acknowledging my nursing application had been received. When applying, the application information indicated, "Allow up to 3 weeks after the END of the Nursing Program track deadline for your application to be processed." The applications were due no later than May 21, so 3 weeks from that date would have been June 11. It's possible, the applications were still being processed and forwarded to the Nursing Department up until just a few days ago. Perhaps we can expect to hear something this week from the Nursing Department as to acceptance status.
  15. Midwife1990, I interpreted that to be referring to the email from the MEC that acknowledges the receipt of our application.
