Hi Everyone!
I really wanted to begin a thread about NVCC's traditional Nursing Program to begin in Fall 2015 (Applications are due May 21 2015). I would like that everybody share her/his experience applying to this program while waiting for the acceptance letters..... and good luck everyone.
PS: i am waiting for my application being processed notification email.
Did anybody receive this notification yet? please let me know :)
Thanks

I will assume your reference to NVCC is Northern Virginia Community College. I applied to the traditional nursing program starting Fall 2015. I mailed my application in March, shortly after the application period began. Today (5/28/15) I received an email with the following: "We are excited to have received your Nursing application. Your application will be processed by our application team shortly. If you are missing any requirements we will notify you via email. If you feel an error was made, let us know by responding immediately to the email you receive once your application has been processed.
We strongly encourage you to follow our blog or like our facebook page, as we will be posting any vital information there in the coming weeks. This includes information about summer orientations and unique opportunities at the MEC.

If you look at the blog post from today (5/28/15) it has the following:
5 Things To Know About Your Nursing Application
1. Applications are processed by the Student Services Office at the MEC.
2. Applicants are emailed once their application has been processed.
3. You should expect to receive an email from the MEC Student Services office between now and June 5th.
4. Applications that have met the requirements are forwarded to the nursing department, where they make final decisions as to whom is accepted.
5. You should enjoy your summer and relax and prepare for an exciting fall semester in the nursing program
Hopefully a few others join the thread here. Thanks for starting the topic.

If this is Northern Virginia Community College, you might want to repost in the Virginia forum rather than the general one. Just look under U.S. at the top, and scroll down.
I'm from CT, where NVCC is Naugatuck Valley Community College, so your post was a bit confusing to me as applications are done over the winter, and acceptance letters have gone out already.
Hi Djasper,
Thanks for your reply. I received the same email this morning. feeling relieved!
The thread is moved to the virginia nursing. thanks for your comment!
Could someone please tell me what this step is for: You should expect to receive an email from the MEC Student Services office between now and June 5th.
Thanks for your replies
Midwife1990,
I interpreted that to be referring to the email from the MEC that acknowledges the receipt of our application.

Hello! Thanks for creating this thread, I was looking for any recent information as I was finding older application years. From what I understand, Student Services reviews the information that is submitted, makes sure it includes all information needed, then forwards the applications to the Nursing Division to assign points, or rank them or whatever.

Hello! I recently graduated from the NVCC RN program this spring. While I don't know about the volume of applicants this year, everyone who applied in 2013 was accepted as long as they met all the requirements (TEAS, prerequisites, etc etc).

Hi bluefire! Have you been able to get a job in the area with your ASN? My fiance is starting the program soon... thanks.
Did you happen to get that email yet??
Sigmone,
I received an email on May 28, 2015, from the MEC Counselor (aka Student Services) acknowledging my nursing application had been received. When applying, the application information indicated, "Allow up to 3 weeks after the END of the Nursing Program track deadline for your application to be processed." The applications were due no later than May 21, so 3 weeks from that date would have been June 11. It's possible, the applications were still being processed and forwarded to the Nursing Department up until just a few days ago. Perhaps we can expect to hear something this week from the Nursing Department as to acceptance status.
