Hello , Everyone I'm a third semester student at Northern Virginia Community College and I know this is a bit early to be inquiring about nursing school but I just would like to get a head start on getting to know everyone interested in applying! I'm excited for the upcoming semester! i have some ice breakers to get this conversation started as well. Has anyone taken the TEAS test yet and if so how was your experience? and also do you have any remaining classes to take before applying.
Hello everyone! Lurker here also. Are they referring to the expected 300-400 applications as record breaking, or do you mean they received more?
I got all As in all prereqs. 90.7 TEAS. Also took BIO 142, BIO 150, HLT 250, HLT 143 (amidst all the curriculum changes, obv). ?
Did anyone apply to other programs in the area? Does anyone else have a plan B?

My plan B is to study again and retake the Teas in July. I was rejected last year and my rejection letter stated they had 130 seats. I'm hoping they can increase the seats since they received so many applications.

I thought the reason why they took more students was because they were not going to have a spring program?
I never heard that, but maybe it was true. The letter just stated they only had 130 seats and didn't have room for me. Then told me to check for 2019 qualifications. At the time, I found out about the extension 24 hrs before the deadline. So I rushed to take the Teas. Even though my Teas scores didn't meet the reading and english, they sent my application upstairs to the Nursing Dept. Who knows what may happen this year. I am nervous again because they received so many applications oppose to last year.

They just posted this on fb : We have just checked in with the MEC Application Team. They report a near-record number of nursing applications received so far. As you prepare to submit, review our handy blog post on required nursing attachments. The application will automatically shut off at 11:59 PM so get your applications in!
So does that mean they got a ton of applications :///////
