Hi all,
i submitted my app for the fall nursing program a week and a half ago so I figured I'd start a forum for all the NVCC MEC nursing applicants to communicate with each other while we anxiously wait for our faith. If anyone in the program or have graduated from the program would like to give some advice, please do!
Everyone else get the new (rather lengthy) mass email "Further Information for Eligible Applicants"?
It explains domicile review is happening now (one may need to provide extra documents, etc.), then ranking & notifications. It doesn't clarify the timeline any further, however, & no exact dates are mentioned.
The email also talks about the admissions process being competitive, advice for those who don't get in (reapply for Spring) & that admitted students will have more requirements to fulfill before they can register for nursing classes.
At least they are keeping us in the loop, which is good.
Heads up! They sent out an email this morning for those who made it through the next step of the review.
"First we wanted to congratulate you on making it this far and on reaching for a goal. We wanted to give you some updates on what will happen next. Your application has been moved onto the next round of review which involves a review of your domiciliary/residency status. You might be asked to bring additional documentation as part of that review. Please check your email regularly in the event that it does. You should also take this time to make sure that your information is up to date in the SIS portal [address, phone numbers etc.]. Afterwards the nursing department will review and rank all applicants. They will contact students via email to inform them of their admissions status. Bear in mind that meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee a seat in the program. Due to the large number of qualified applicants, not everyone will be accepted.
If accepted, the nursing division will be asking you to complete additional items before you'll be allowed to register for your fall nursing courses. Students that are accepted into the program are all program placed†at the same time. As a result, student services is unable to update your record until the Nursing program the final list of accepted applicants."
