I talked to one of the counselors at the undergrad office who also is a liason (or something along that line) for the nursing program, and he recommended that I elaborate why my first semster was not good etc. and that the review board would take it into consideration when they're reading apps. They like when you address a problem so it helps them better understand your application. So hopefully it helps! I also looked at some places in Arlington too Mino32, but everything is way out of my range for a 1 bedroom, so if i get accepted, i may see how the first semester goes and then maybe rent a basement or find someone to sublease with. I agree, 500 words was not enough! lol I wrote about 700 words and then my boyfriend had to help me cut it down to 500.. hopefully we all get in! Has the submission date for accelerated started yet?

I applied the Monday of the week for the first submission. My gpa is a 3.2 as well but I did get deans list last semester so I hope they recognize a progression in my transcript! I addressed my struggles my first year of college in my personal statement, but I feel like 500 words just isn't enough I live about 45 mi from the campus so I might see how the first semester goes before I decide if I want to Find a place in Arlington. I'm glad we all found each other on this forum!

yes i did as well! I visited an admissions counselor there yesterday and she said my application is getting ready to be reviewed so im assuming thats for everyone who has submitted already as well. I'm extremely nervous because i dont have the best gpa, and my teas were not exactly great either. So im hoping my personal statement and resume will help out a bit and the fact that i've gradually gotten better since my first semsester. How are you guys feeling?

Heads up! They sent out an email this morning for those who made it through the next step of the review. "First we wanted to congratulate you on making it this far and on reaching for a goal. We wanted to give you some updates on what will happen next. Your application has been moved onto the next round of review which involves a review of your domiciliary/residency status. You might be asked to bring additional documentation as part of that review. Please check your email regularly in the event that it does. You should also take this time to make sure that your information is up to date in the SIS portal [address, phone numbers etc.]. Afterwards the nursing department will review and rank all applicants. They will contact students via email to inform them of their admissions status. Bear in mind that meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee a seat in the program. Due to the large number of qualified applicants, not everyone will be accepted. If accepted, the nursing division will be asking you to complete additional items before you'll be allowed to register for your fall nursing courses. Students that are accepted into the program are all program placed†at the same time. As a result, student services is unable to update your record until the Nursing program the final list of accepted applicants."

But some people in this forum said they haven't gotten the confirmation email yet, and I got mine just 2 days ago!! I hope they send the acceptances out all at once Instead of scattered like they did for the confirmation emails. Everyone's anxiety level would be at an all time high

I sent mine in about a week before the deadline, so that makes sense I recieved mine later. Someone in this forum said they called them about not receiving the confirmation email yet and then they got minutes after. I'm assuming they sent out all the conrdimatipn letters if they are sending acceptances starting tomorrow

I totally agree they haven't been updating their fb page regarding nursing info lately. I got the email yesterday that my app will be transferred to the nursing department but some people in this forum said they got it 2 weeks ago, so that kind of scared me. I thought they would do everything at once, but when I called two weeks ago, they said they got over 400 apps this year. I don't think we will hear back by June 2nd if I just got the confirmation email yesterday (assuming others just got it yesterday as well). Maybe mid-late June?

You got a confirmation email? Because someone above this post said she contacted the MEC and they said they were not going to do that this year. Has anyone else received an email that they've processed your applicantion?

To my knowledge, in state applicants have first priority, then out of state, and then international.

So the applicants heard back a little over a month after the deadline.. that's not too bad. I was expecting longer than that. I wish they would send an email telling us they've received it. I just the confirmation from the usps but it'd still be nice to get the confirmation from them, you know?
