Hi,
I just need some insight from all of you...I am planning to apply for nursing at NVCC for fall 2016. I have finished all my prerequisites and general requirement with the gpa of 3.7 but my teas score is on the lower side. I still have two chances to take it again but the student services have told me that since I passed I can't take it again. Is it true? If I were to take it again, will the nursing team take my highest score for consideration? Any help will be appreciated! 😊
I have to say I am a little upset that when I spoke with someone at NOVA that they did not tell me the truth, and that she said they were still sending out acceptances. It would have been nice to be told that no one else was being accepted unless someone decided to decline their acceptance. I was also under the impression that GPA was looked at more than the TEAs scores. Curious when they will be sending out the rejection emails, as much as it will hurt to get one, at least I can know it is official.
Due to financial reasons I am limited to going to a community college for my ADN, and cannot pursue a BSN right away, does anyone know of any other community colleges that as an ADN program that is taking applications. I would rather not wait until next year to start, if at all possible.
So not that it matters much now but I called student services to ask about the classes/grades that they look at to determine program eligibility. Since i took NAS 161-162 in 2010-2011 and ended up with C's in both but then last year took Bio 141-142 and Bio 150 and got As in all of them, which sequence they took. The person I spoke with, told me that they look at everything for science and then take the sequence with the better grades. I said oh okay and he asked about my grades and i told him that prereqs alone had me at a 3.8. so then he asked about my TEAs scores and they were in the high 70s/low 80s. He said yeah this year it came down to teas scores and the applicants accepted had straight As and scores in the 90s with the lowest score accepted being in the high 80s. my plan is to retake the TEAs but actually study for it this time because i definitely winged it that first time. I also plan to reapply next year because transferring to GMU for the BSN requires more prereqs, a video, an essay, and your first born child (joking, but it seriously feels that way).
