Hi,
I just need some insight from all of you...I am planning to apply for nursing at NVCC for fall 2016. I have finished all my prerequisites and general requirement with the gpa of 3.7 but my teas score is on the lower side. I still have two chances to take it again but the student services have told me that since I passed I can't take it again. Is it true? If I were to take it again, will the nursing team take my highest score for consideration? Any help will be appreciated! 😊
This was my plan B since Mason needed more class than you should take and I graduate with my associate of Science from NOVA. I felt like they did rush the whole process and why 24%.?? I would understand if they didn't lower the TEAS score. I don't think Ill applied to the Hybid one. I might go for Marymount since it closer or Mason. We will see. But Marymount is bigger and you need complete more step like interview and things. I don't want to leave my mama alone since recently my father passed away.
Hi everyone,
I'm just as upset and disappointed as everyone else on this thread. I really thought I would get accepted. I'm thinking of a plan B, but all the other schools require so much more classes. Anyhow I spoke to one of the nursing deans about 30mins ago. She said that they are still notifying students who applied to the traditional track and we should hear of acceptance either by this afternoon or Monday. Those who are not accepted will hear by end of next week. I also asked about the 24% acceptance pool. She said that she won't disclose an exact # of how many they are accepting. I mentioned the Facebook info we are getting from Nova MeC, she said "what Facebook page" ??? They have no clue who posts info on that page. I'm so confused and stressed out right now. I don't know what or who to believe anymore

They need to get organized. They aren't telling people who didn't get in until next week? that's so late, what about this "mandatory orientation" we're suppose to attend?
Wow... If any of that information is true, this is a complete mess. They are not organized whatsoever, and at this point, nothing on the MEC fb page seems to be reliable due to none of the staff knowing about it. So where are they getting their info from when they say they're "contacting the nursing division" for answers?
I'm sure if someone else were to call to inquire about the same thing that Rezzie inquired about, we may be getting different answers, per usual. But who knows. If we get a few of the same answers, it may be true that they haven't actually sent all of them out. And it is info straight from the dean... But again, who knows.
I just called and they told me the same thing - that there is no way they were able to get all the emails out yesterday and they were hoping to get them out today whether you were accepted or not. I'm wondering if she just didn't want to say on the phone that if I didn't get an email yesterday I wasn't accepted. Who knows?! I don't know what to believe. I spoke to someone directly in the nursing department at 703-822-6579.

I wouldn't waste my time with their hybrid program either. Especially because the hybrid program, from what I've heard, is even more difficult to get into because they accept way less students than they do for the traditional program. So I can't even imagine how this upcoming hybrid's program is gonna play out after having been through this mess.
