NVCC applying for Fall of 2014. Class of 2016

I started this thread in hopes of connecting with people who applied for the Traditional Nursing program at NVCC. I have been corresponding with them via e-mail and am anxiously awaiting an acceptance letter. Hope everyone else submitted their applications without issue! Maybe we can cheer each other on :)

BTW has anyone purchased the nursing skills pack yet? I'm lost at if we have to mail in the order form or if we can just click the link? I know the to-do list says we must use the order form but that asks for your address so are we supposed to put nova's address or our own?

I purchased the nursing skills pack by clicking on the link provided. It asks you to log in, so I used the one given on the order form I downloaded. I entered my address for the billing info (was a bit confused since it's not supposed to go to our address), then the last part was the shipping address and it said our school had taken care of the shipment, so the order was complete.

Also, I looked up the nurse kit (minus the stethoscope) and found the same one on allheart.com for $18 dollars. It's made by Prestige and listed under accessories, organizers. I've used allheart before and haven't had any problems with them. I see they recommend the Classic II stethoscope. I have the Cardiology III and love it!

Thank you for figuring out the background check info! I already paid and gave a urine sample, I would hate to do it again.

Did anyone get through NSO? I got it, but the max is only $10,000 on mine, so I need to fix it and make it $1,000,000-6,000,000. Does anyone know how to adjust the amount? Thank you! ?

Did anyone get liability insurance through NSO? I got it, but the max is only $10,000 on mine, so I need to fix it and make it $1,000,000-6,000,000. Does anyone know how to adjust the amount? Thank you! 

OH okay I was just confused since the checklist states to use the order form so I didn't know if the online link was usable I'll do it online though :)

That's great! I've heard great reviews from Prestige and that's def. much cheaper than the $91 they are asking for. I wonder how strict they will be on who we purchase the kit from :/ Are you planning on just using the kit from allheart.com?

Yes I got the insurance from NSO. That's strange, mines came to the $1,000,000-6,000,000.Do you have previous insurance? Maybe that's why your range came out different. Try logging into your account? Maybe you can do it through there or you can just call to ask them to change it. Also regarding the insurance, did you see on the printed confirmation page there was a part which said we needed to sign and send? I thought if we purchased the insurance online we didn't have to sign and send anything...I'm worried if it's necessary or not because I don't want to not have the insurance :/

Do you carry another license already? Somewhere in all that stuff it said that if you do you might not be able to get the right limits and have to contact someone at the school about getting situated.

Anyone's who's background check is complete, does your PDF file say that there is no association of the ssn with your name and birthday? I'm confused as to why it says that. Like is it something that's private which is why it doesn't state the actual ssn? Underneath that message it says that the only way to obtain the ssn information is to called the Social Security Administration so I'm guessing maybe it's private information that they cant' put on the background check? I"m kinda worried. Anyone else have that same statement?

$99 for the nursing skills pack is a lot! Did you use the form or just the website to purchase it? The nurse kit is different from the nursing skills pack. The kit includes the stethoscope, penlights etc. The skills pack goes straight to the school and includes stuff for lab use so we must purchase both

Is anyone else not seeing the traditional nursing orientation page on blackboard? I can see it on the app for my phone but not on my computer for some reason? :ninja:
