NVCC applying for Fall of 2014. Class of 2016

Hey guys,

I started this thread in hopes of connecting with people who applied for the Traditional Nursing program at NVCC. I have been corresponding with them via e-mail and am anxiously awaiting an acceptance letter. Hope everyone else submitted their applications without issue! Maybe we can cheer each other on :)

I believe the COMPASS tests are the Math and English Assessment tests to find out your placement levels. I took mine my previous university years ago so I left those areas blank.

I thought that might be it but I couldn't find anywhere in my SIS where they were listed to get the score from. It wouldn't let me save it anyway. Even when I tried just typing "unknown" in those boxes and checked everything else to make sure they were filled in, it kept telling me "question unanswered" so I gave up. It doesn't have to be done until 8/18, so I'm not going to worry about it until orientation.

Thank you! I took those a few years ago at another university too...my scores are somewhere at the previous college. Leaving it blank for now.

Does anyone know if our textbook bundle is for the entire program or just the first semester/year?

I swear I read somewhere in all that info that it's our books for the entire program!

Working on my checklist today, I'm doing the VCCS Attrition Risk Assessment Tool, and it's asking for COMPASS test scores. Does anyone know what that is?

It's your placement tests you took when starting nova. You can find it in your SIS on mynova! Log in then click SIS then go to Degree Progress/Graduation, click on My Academic Requirements, and finally click View Report as PDF. wait a bit till it opens in a new window then scroll down and it'll say test scores. It'll say COMPASS reading or writing. Personally I couldn't find the math score so all I put was the math class I was placed into but the reading and writing score was there. Maybe you'll have the math score on your report! If not we can just bring it up Tuesday! :)

hi everyone we are suppose to take the background test confirmation on orientation date. they say the name with the password. but i don`t see a password. it shows the date, name, and how much was paid.

it's page 4. Go into the certified background site, go under my documents, click background check, then click results, download it and open it. Once it's opened go to page 4 and you'll see it there!

This is mine, the top blur is the name and the blur at the bottom is the password. It was on page 6 for me. I've lived a lot of places and have been married more than once, so they had a lot of municipalities and names to check for me ;P
