NVC -CP- GC Tracker

Published

I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.

The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.

Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!

The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.

Here is my case details

Hi everyone, I guess most of you are still waiting for a miracle by March since your cases were completed late last year. I was just wondering as to what miracle can I assume. My case is not complete yet. The last update I got from NVC when I called them was that my documents along with the benificiaries(i supposed that means my dependent) were received last January 5, 2006.

When do you think will my case be completed? Can I hope for a May Miracle? I'm planning to resign from my current job next month and start reviewing for NCLEX but I'm scared that my papers might take longer than May 06. I think for someone like me who is just coming back to nursing profession after 10 years needs a long preparation for NCLEX than most of you. I'm just scared that losing my job this early might be a wrong move. I'm caught in between. Any advise please? :uhoh3:

NVC received my documents on october 31, 2005 and was completed december 19, 2005.. about 6 weeks. NVC told me to wait 8 weeks for the next instruction ( which is the schedule of the interview). based on what i read from this forum, it usually takes about 4weeks more for the actual interview in the embassy (from the time you get ur achedule). If we base your case on mine, ( with jan 5 as the starting date), it may be completed by the middle of march. from then, count about 12 weeks for the actual interview ( \or even more weeks if there are delays). ul probably have your interview mid-june.

i think it is not wise to resign from work before getting the visa. what if, in the worst case, the applicant is rejected? ...just my opinion..

Hi, thanks for your reply. I hope we can all have an early miracle. Please keep updating us on the status of your case.

Can anyone help me please? I have a friend asking what to do with their case. She's already in New York but as agreed with the agency, her husband and son will just follow. Now that she's there, she don't know how to start filing for the dependents.

When she was scheduled for interview last November, it was stated on her application that her 2 dependents will just follow that's why they're not included in the interview. Up to this time, the dependent's visas remain unpaid. The questions are:

1. When and Where should they pay for the visa?

2. How about the DS230? Where should they submit that?

3. Can they just call the embassy here in Manila to pay and to get a medical and interview schedule?

4. How many months do they have to wait before they can follow her in New York?

Thanks...........:)

Its very strange..... Who ever is the part of visa has to undergo the interview with the beneficiary even if they are following the main person to US on a later date. And as you said that has already mentioned in the application, the dependents name should have been there in the appointment letter. According to my knowledge it seems like the agency has not filed the dependends case. If they would have filed atleast the DS230 would have reached the embassy.. I feel the agency was just fooling...

Anyway check with Dale... He would be the right person to guide u...

In the ds-230 forms on item 21b it says" persons who will follow you at a later date" that means dependents who's visas will be processed later.

The best thing to do is call the NVC or the US Embassy.

If you register online with pearson vue you can get your ATT via E-mail after 10 minutes or less and then give two weeks for the snail mail ATT to arrive.

I suggest you take the Exam in CABON and then endorse to Florida to SAVE TIME. Making a candidate eligle to sit for NCLEX takes time.

Check this link. Its a FAQ at the Florida Board of Nursing

cool as ice

>>> Thanks a lot for this info. I registered with Pearson vue last jan.17 and true enough i received my ATT after a few minutes. Glad to know that its validity is 1 year so i think i'll have ample time for review. I'll be taking it this April... thanks so much......... :)

Look closely at what you recieved. The approval letter to be able to register with Pearson-Vue from the state where you applied, that is good for one year, the actual ATT has a 90 day expiration date. You need to take the exam before that 90 days is up, or you will need to repay the fee. That is why I always tell foreign nurses to never pay the fee until they know exactly when they are going to take the exam.

If their fees were not paid at the same time that your friend's fees were, or soon after, and they are not listed on her applicaition, and were not included in the appt at the Embassy, then they will need to go thru the entire procedure now, and shame on that agecny for not following thru. It can be two years for this to get done.

The agency lied to her, and please send me a pm with their name. They are going to be filing now as dependents of the green card holder that is already in the US. It sohuld have been done when the nurse filed her documents, even if the family was goin gto come over later.

Sorry, to have to give you the news like this. But your friend was taken advantage of.

NOT ALL ATT's have a 90 DAY EXPIRATION DATE. Check your ATT for TEST VALIDITY. I have a 1 year validity period in my ATT.

Hi Suzanne, Rep and Nimisha, The fees for dependents weren't paid, DS230 weren't submitted however on my friend's DS230 their names were listed. Also, when they post her case number at the embassy's interview appointment website, there were 3 case numbers reflected even if the visas were not paid.

Wouldn't it be possible for them to call for interview appointment at the embassy here in Manila since their case numbers were reflected last November 2005 schedule? Can they just pay the visa at the time of interview?

The approval letter form the state that you meet the requirements has a one year valid date. The actual ATT that is sent out by Pearosn-Vue after you pay the fee for the exam is 90 days, at least on every single one that I have seen and from all over the country. The letter from the state with approval and the ATT are two completely different things.

Once Pearson-Vue has their money, they only keep your account open for 90 days.
