  1. Hi Everyone, Called up NVC this morning. Finally after several months of waiting, I was informed that I was scheduled for interview this May 25 at 6:30 am. No schedule posted yet at the website. My case was completed January 12, 2006. MNL2004******. I'm sure those cases completed last December who weren't included in the april sked are now included this May sked. :balloons: I suggest you start calling NVC. Goodluck to us.
  2. Hi, try this site. http://usembassy.state.gov/manila/wwwh3227.html
  3. Hi everyone, Just want to share with all of you the status of my case. 3 weeks ago, I was told that my documents were received as well as the beneficiary last January 5, 2006 and allow 6 to 8 weeks for the review. Today, I called again, I was surprised that my case was completed last January 12, 2006. If you will check it, it's only 1 week from the day they received my documents. Isn't this strange????? Well, whatever it is, I am still very happy that my case is really moving forward. :) :chuckle I was also told that they do a schedule every 1st 15 days of the month. She said my case was already forwarded to the Embassy for appointment. I don't know..... I will just hope for the best. Good luck to all of us waiting for appointment.
  4. Hi hael, I know someone who had a primary TB and he found out only on the day of his medical. He is not a nurse, he is an engineer applying for working or Immigrant visa. I am not sure which type of visa that was but it's the same process as ours. When the embassy found out about his case, he was asked to undergo 6 months of treatment. Then 6 months later he went back for medical and when they examined him, it was all clear. He was again scheduled for another interview and that's it. He's now in the US. At least in your case, you knew about it even before your medical. There may be a delay on the processing of visa just like the guy I know but it's not a reason for denial. It is best to comply with the treatment at this time. I hope this helps. Good luck and God Bless.
  5. Hi dhel, I know where you're coming from. It took me several visits to the US before I have decided to file my papers. My first 2 visits there were overwhelming. I was all over. I went to NY, California, Chicago, Michigan, San Francisco, Las Vegas, etc.... But my friends said visiting is different from living and working there. So on my 3rd visit, I stayed longer (almost 6 months). It was the loneliest 6months of my life. Yes, money can be easy if you are an RN but before you you can put a smile on your face, major adjustment needs to be done. It's a totally different culture. Philippines is a very laid back country so it's very hard to adapt to their system. On top of that, you don't have family and friends whom you can call anytime if you need help. Now the question is, What made me decide to process my papers? I can also say that my compensation and my lifestyle is already good here in the Philippines. So many people are asking, why will I migrate? Why will I leave my job here? First, that's because my husband is also a nurse. Second, I want to secure the future of my family. Here, everything is so hard to achieve. If you are poor in this country, you are really poor and If you are rich, you are really rich and yes you can stay here if you are. Third, my parents. I can start a family in the US at the same time giving support to my parents here. One of my biggest fear is that if they get sick and I am still here, my income may not be enough knowing how expensive it is to be hospitalized here, most medical insurance doesn't cover 70 years old and above. My parents in 5 years time will be 70. Lastly, when I was there, it was hard but I believe that I can survive. I tried taking the bus, subway, path train and even driving there by myself. It took a while before I get the feel of it but eventually I made it. I love mapquest. You can get driving directions if you want to go places. We can afford to buy the food that others are buying unlike here. There, even if you pay high taxes, at least you know where it's going, here it goes to corruption. So, I know you can do it. I guess that's the best thing about Filipinos. We are exposed to a lot of challenges, those challenges made us a better person. Goodluck to you and to your family. KEEP BELIEVIN'
  6. Hi, thanks for your help. I will do that. Hope we both pass the exams.
  7. Anyone from the Philippines who have applied NCLEX on their own????? Please help me. I got my husband's eligibility while mine is being processed by my employer. We processed his NCLEX application using a Manila address. I don't know what to do next after receiving his eligibility. We applied at CA-BON. How do I send the payment for his ATT and how much? Is it PNB bank draft again the same as what we did with his NCLEX application? Should I use the same Manila address? My employer will schedule my exam 3 months from now at either Hongkong or Saipan and we prefer to take the exam together. Will he be able to join me? How long does it take to process everything?
  8. thanks for doing this. i will print this and give it to them.
  9. They should pay the visas for dependents and not the agency. Maybe that's the reason why they weren't included. I will just ask the husband to call the Embassy then maybe my friend can also call NVC. Thanks so much.
  10. Hi Suzanne, Rep and Nimisha, The fees for dependents weren't paid, DS230 weren't submitted however on my friend's DS230 their names were listed. Also, when they post her case number at the embassy's interview appointment website, there were 3 case numbers reflected even if the visas were not paid. Wouldn't it be possible for them to call for interview appointment at the embassy here in Manila since their case numbers were reflected last November 2005 schedule? Can they just pay the visa at the time of interview?
  11. Can anyone help me please? I have a friend asking what to do with their case. She's already in New York but as agreed with the agency, her husband and son will just follow. Now that she's there, she don't know how to start filing for the dependents. When she was scheduled for interview last November, it was stated on her application that her 2 dependents will just follow that's why they're not included in the interview. Up to this time, the dependent's visas remain unpaid. The questions are: 1. When and Where should they pay for the visa? 2. How about the DS230? Where should they submit that? 3. Can they just call the embassy here in Manila to pay and to get a medical and interview schedule? 4. How many months do they have to wait before they can follow her in New York? Thanks...........:)
  12. Hi, thanks for your reply. I hope we can all have an early miracle. Please keep updating us on the status of your case.
  13. Hi everyone, I guess most of you are still waiting for a miracle by March since your cases were completed late last year. I was just wondering as to what miracle can I assume. My case is not complete yet. The last update I got from NVC when I called them was that my documents along with the benificiaries(i supposed that means my dependent) were received last January 5, 2006. When do you think will my case be completed? Can I hope for a May Miracle? I'm planning to resign from my current job next month and start reviewing for NCLEX but I'm scared that my papers might take longer than May 06. I think for someone like me who is just coming back to nursing profession after 10 years needs a long preparation for NCLEX than most of you. I'm just scared that losing my job this early might be a wrong move. I'm caught in between. Any advise please?
  14. Hi thanks for your reply. After NVC received my DS230 I was told by NVC that all they need to complete my case is the payment for my dependent's (husband) immigrant visa fee. Last night I got an email from my employer saying that they have paid for it a week ago. They also submitted my husband's DS230. To some of you who had the same experience as mine, when do you think will I be scheduled for interview or when do you think will my case be completed? Am I close or it's still a long way to go?
  15. Just wondering, when does NVC determine who and how many dependents you'll have? Would they know that after I have submitted my DS230 or even before then? If it's after submission of Packet 3, does that mean payments for immigrant visa fee for the dependents I have included should follow or payments should be included once I have submitted my DS230? Thanks.
